Cousins Jordan Aldridge could have all won this game for us but the only one who might be thinking it is Cousins, the others are on better playoff teams worrying about their own teams rn.

If he had been a Celtic, there's a good chance that Boston would be up 2-0 in this series?  (The question isn't what you think, but what a NBA player might think.)

I don't think anyone here seriously expected the Celtics to win this series, so the best case scenario is that the Celtics put up a good enough fight to make a player think that he can be the difference-maker who puts the team into title contention or maybe a player away from there.  How close are the Celtics to looking that good?

Hey guys new to the forums, watching them stick with cavs had me jacked up I needed to join. I totally agree with this post I was texting my father saying the same thing, there's no way a lottery finish with some guy we get at the 10th or so pick is even close to as attractive to a free agent as a team on the rise with a great young coach going toe to toe with the best player in the world and making him sweat

Welcome to the CelticBlog community. You seem to have much  sense to your post. please excuse some of your companions here who have unrealstic opinions, and goals for our team and still want Rondo back! ;D ;D ;D

Oh god that was sarcastic right? No way people really want rondo back haha
Oh you have a lot to learn

Lol gonna sit back and eat popcorn for those moments

I just hope we duck our heads and look away if Kevin Love comes knocking at our door. The more I watch him play, the less I am impressed. I mean, I know he has to be a better player than what he is showing in this series, but his stats are about as empty as one can have for a player of his caliber.

I can't imagine he is all that happy playing with Lebron, but that will probably change if they win a championship.

We're a SF who can score/create his own shot and a big who can defend the basket/rebound away from making serious noise. Jordan could provide the latter in free agency, while moving up in the draft (Winslow or Hezonja) could eventually provide the former.

The only way ANY FA would want to come here is if there were 1 or 2 all-star already here. Weather sucks, taxes are horrendous, and Jack Nicholson and dimepiece babes aren't courtside.

We're in a tough spot. We need somehow to get an all-star. Period. Since tanking is out, there's trades.

I'd move every pick we have this summer to go for DMC, Aldridge, Love, whomever. No point in drafting any more mid-first rounders..

I know where you are coming from with that and yes he hasn't looked like a franchise/max player at all this series or this season for that matter. But I think he is a guy Stevens would love to have. A 6 10 guy who can consistently shoot the three, score inside and pass the ball.

He's essentially the finished product of what we all hoped and continue to hope that sully and Kelly can become down the road. I really believe playing with guys who demand the ball like Lebron and Kyrie do is making him look much worse than he actually is as a player. He would flourish in Stevens system

With the cap going up in the next couple years I would have no problem dishing out a max deal to love at this point. It will make Boston a much more attractive destination and give us a reliable scorer which we really don't have besides our undersized 6th man

Not the marquee ones, but some solid free agents would look at us and could think that they can be in a place where the coaching could put them into a place where they could succeed.

It's hard not to be impressed with the scrappy bunch that we have, taking the Cavs best shot and somehow hanging in. There would be players that could think that with their talents, they could very well succeed in our team.

I hope that DeMarcus Cousins is thinking this way.

Agreed. Love isn't being properly utilized on the Cavs and therefore he's not showing all that he can do. He's a good low post player, especially from the left block, and has soft hook going towards the middle. He's also an excellent passer and can be deadly hitting cutters from the high post. Those are the two aspects of his game that aren't on full display in Cleveland. Not to mention all he does, which we already know like the perimeter shooting, outlet passes, rebounding, etc.

No doubt people are taking Notice of Stevens and the little feisty nucleus we have brewing here. Players aren't blind.  Several free agents will have interest.  I don't see Danny blowing big money on just anyone.  He will continue to be patient and play the opportunities as they come.  Bit by bit.

DeAndre Jordan as Tristan Thompson has been KILLING us on the boards.
Zeller needs to play stronger on the boards.

I could probably say that about most of our bigs, but we need Zeller to step up on the boards. He's got the most length and is getting the majority of chances. He's just getting beat off the boards.

In reality Zeller is likely a solid backup center at best.  Sullinger also, but possibly could bang a little better in rebounding action.  I would love it if Love said forget Cleveland after this year and wanted to be a star for the Celtics.  If I were him and didn't win a title this year, with all the issues, I'd be looking elsewhere.  Imagine the current team with Love, and a monster Big added also.  Then they would become very interesting.

I think it has gone through the minds of multiple free agents. If only Aldridge told himself "well at least they aren't getting beat by 30 and I could have have all these rebounds AND scored during their offensive droughts"...

Too bad Cousins isn't a FA for three more years.

I don't mean to take away from what Love has done in his career, he is obviously a very good player and has put up monster stats for year; however, it looks as though the Celtics are going the route of defensive team with guys who step up in big moments. Love isn't necessarily liking his backseat role, but he also isn't fighting for 'shotgun'. His lack of defense is also concerning.

I am not saying that the KO/Sully combo is as good as Love, but they can be as effective (as Love in Cle, not Minny) and hopefully they continue to improve/lose weight. If Love actively sought out Boston as his his next destination, it would be hard to say no, but he isn't my top choice either. We would desperately need to pair a DeAndre Jordan type with him to make it a formidable front court.

Celtics passing and teamwork doing a very good job of exposing K-Love on defense.
