Noel should be our top trade target. I know this sounds silly but he is the only realistic shot a getting a first grade rim protector.

I am paraphrasing Pitino when I say, "Marc Gasol isn't walking through that door fans...Jordan isn't walk through that door", but hope isn't lost because the Philly tanking train is still tugging along and they seem to be wiling to let players off with the right return. Noel isn't a 4 he's a 5 and with Embiid they have their future 5 and with a few picks going back and perhaps Sullinger I think we can get the deal done.

Noel has great defensive instincts and a good basketball I.Q with a slowly expanding offensive game. This seasons average of 1.8 steals and 2 blocks a game shows how valuable he is on the defensive end  and under Stevens he can be our Deandre Jordan with the more appropriate age and a value assets is that he is from Massachusetts! This can be important come restricted free agency and from a marketing standpoint as I can't remember the last time Celtics had a good player from Massachusetts.

Hinkie is already under pressure from the media and fans.
Noel is the only tangible proof that he got something right.
He would ask a lot in return for such a trade to happen.

Yeah i would love to get him but i don't see them trading him. They could have a nice set up for years to come. Now if they win the lotto this year, it would make it very interesting on what they would do. The top guys seem to be towns and oakafor.

I think this years Boston pick (perhaps a future first too) and Sullinger or Olynyk could get it done. Like I said they don't have an established PF and we have too many. I don't think we can pick up a Noel quality player where we are in the draft this year and I highly doubt and team will want to trade down. When Embiid is healthy both players can't play together as neither can come out to hit the 3 and both will get in each others way on the block and it could create a Suns three guard situation.

That's not nearly enough for the Sixers to trade Noel.  They are not going to want Sully or Olynyk.  They already have Saric developing in Europe.  Memphis has done just fine with neither their PF or C shooting 3s.  However Embiid has been practicing his 3pt shooting.  I'm not sure how good he'll get at it but he can certainly shoot out to 20'.

I would love to trade for Nerlens Noel but I think Philadelphia will want to wait until the lottery and then until after the draft. Then they will want to see Embiid play and see what happens with Brooklyn. Then around the trade deadline if Brooklyn is struggling and Embiid looks good they might consider. Because they got that LA Lakers pick for MCW and I don't think they will want Sully or Olynyk.

Can this be merged with the 50 other threads discussing Noel and Embiid? No offense to OP but there are like two a week and he is a few years away from free agency.

If Hinkie decides to trade Embiid it's because he knows Embiid is done.

I'd do some crazy things for Noel. Our 2015 and 2016 1st round picks plus Memphis 1st round (or Brooklyn 2018) and two second rounders. We have to send a player to match salaries, maybe Young. I don't think Hinkie would accept, but... well, Young plus three or four first round picks.

We would still have Clippers 2015, Brooklyn 2016 and Dallas 2016.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

there are doubts about Embiid's condition.

Trade up and draft WCS.  He's nothing special on offense, but Noel was was next to last in offensive real +/- this year by a hair over old friend Perk.

Why bring up that old garbage of Embiid's weight when there are plenty of youtube clips that show him in good shape?  I'd love to get either Noel or Embiid and I'd give up a lot to do so.

Tazz are you a celtics fan or Philly fan? I am not trolling you, but when I saw you and Randy always all over the Philly threads and he said he was a philly fan I assumed you were also. Do you like both teams?
