Yeah, I was also watching in Portugal but I got the entire game. Gigi is what he is: a scorer who can't guard (almost) anyone. Middleton went where he wanted to, just like James Johnson did the previous Raptors game.
But he was agressive all night on the offensive end and made two huge baskets in the final minutes to clinch the victory. But if he can't attack the basket and play some D, he'll never be more than a heat-check guy in the NBA.

good time to have a big game-the cavs will really have to stretch the floor even if he is used as decoy-

Yeah, i am torn about Gigi, he is very likable. but talent wise I am not sure he is a keeper. specially when we need to make room for some draft picks.

he seems to struggle with screens, when i read scouting reports older it said he had good lateral speed-i hope james young takes note of what happens when your defense is exposed-another thing i hope james noticed was datome ability to use his left hand--

Well here is where you can use Luigi.  Yes he is pretty bad on defense but sometimes a bad defender on the other teams 4th or 5th option is better than Smart or Bradley on the other team's 1st or 2nd option.

You can also hide him in a zone on the baseline since he has good size but Plumlee abused him on one play like that last night.  Still, you'd rather have Dellaladova taking shots on Luigi than Lebron, Kyrie, or Love on any of our other guys.  He just can't go James Young on him and give up layups.

I turned the game off after the 1st quarter in disgust too. Gigi did not look like an NBA player. I usually over rate everyone in green but he looked like a boy among men out there.

I'm surprised that he didn't stick in Detroit, if for no other reason than his name is perfectly suited for their obnoxious PA announcer, lol. ;D  Seriously, "That's a three, for GiGi, Da - toe - mee." ;D Anyway, here are the highlights.  The youtube channel is hilarious, btw.  Just read the descriptions of some of the videos.

i think gigi has made over time some very slick passes,i like the pace he puts on the ball and how he keeps the flow moving.
i think being a shooter he knows how people need to  get ball in the right place
i also like the way he runs his routes much like prince.
i thought tommy implied he doesn't understand nba defensively., did i miss hear that.
he gets beat off dribble and i am sorry giggi  but very poor getting over the top and easily screened out.it will be interesting to watch his growth with celtics coaching over this summer  .

Like his offensive game but I don't see where he fits next season.  Sign the swede as tommy would say, turner, crawford then gigi?  I see another team can offer him more minutes.

i have gone back years watching dantome and he dives for loose balls not flops and he got his share of tip ins but boy can he be beat going to hoop, often he was able with his reach to block shots from behind turning a blow buy into a block,a nice trick but
there is something in his defensive dna that needs correcting.
love his pull up and stepback jumpers
.the north end and new england italians deserve a gigi.
the boston celtics can really market gigi in italy, very positive for celtics as a brand in europe.
gigi fills the 3 point gap with a much more experienced passer and shooter than young,he has 10 yrs of high level basketball and comes from programs that taught technique.

James Jones has been around long enough, why not Gigi?

PS- He had 10 points in that final 5 minutes which pretty much ensured the W. Not that a win or a loss mattered but he still gave it his all and I'm sure he felt good about closing out strong.

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

- Me (sometime in January)

Guess I was wrong (May 23rd)

Gigi has a very cheap option for next year. He still might end up a casualty of the off-season, but I fully expect him back.

He is blown-by because of poor technique and not athletic disadvantage. With a season under his belt, I wonder what his D would be.
"We do so many defensive drills in practice, I come home and I'm putting the press on my woman, denying her the ball.
Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."
