I don't really think I want Cousins for what it would take to get him, but there really aren't too many teams with much more to offer.

Anyway Cousins isn't coming here. They have what? Three years left on the deal? The asking price would be way too high. They have plenty of chances to make it work, and they'd be dumb not to try.

Calm Down Phosita. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

So maybe I should post a thread about which players we should target to put around Kevin Durant when we trade for him this summer?

Anything is possible, right?

Or how about the ideal center and wing to put next to Anthony Davis?

As for which player I think the KINGS ought to put next to DeMarcus . . .

They need a floor stretcher, especially with Gay on the wing.  I thought Patrick Patterson could have worked for them if they had held onto him.  Ryan Anderson might work if they could keep him healthy.

Ersan Ilyasova is a guy who should be available who could work next to Cousins, I think.

Perhaps we can entice them to trade their lottery pick if we send them Olynyk or Sullinger along with a couple of other assets.
I'd go with LA and Wiggins as two guys around KD.  ;D

nice to dream, but no, not everything is possible. i still dont have those wings i have longed for since childhood.

we can HOPE for anything, but hope should not make us completely delusional.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Dr Phil is listed at 6'4" 240 his wingspan is a pathetic 6'2", plus his lateral movement is terrible. But he does box out well, and is known for getting it to the opponents head. I think off the bench ten minutes a game he could help.

As long as Sacramento continues to lose and miss the playoffs, Cousins is and will not be far off the trading block. Good likelihood Cousins demands a trade sometime in the next 12-24 months given how bad a job the Kings are doing of putting talent around him.

As for the perfect 4 to pair with Cousins = I really like Draymond Green. Someone who is a low usage player. Allow for the offense to run through Cousins' hands as much as possible (versus say pairing Cousins with another star big man who'll eat into Cousins' touches). Plays strong defense. Rebounds well. Skilled offensive player. Good quickness.

Anyway, I think most PFs will work well with Cousins because Cousins has become such a well rounded center. He is not a flawed player like Brook Lopez who only has a small window of guys who can function well alongside him (or a defense-only center who bigger but still restricted options in pairing next to). Cousins can play with just about anybody.

LOL. Brilliant. ;D

Slightly off topic, but Dr. Phil and Shaq have history together.

(Dr. utters a curse word towards the end)

And - Shaq played for BOS...was having a great impact on team before his health caught up to him. Seemed to love the city as well.

BOS was stomping through the league before he got injured.

AND NOW? Shaq is a consultant with the Kings....AND has the ear of DeMarcus, I'm sure.

I know I'm reaching here, but one thing could lead to another, lol.

Yes, sure, but what leverage does he have given that he's recently signed a long-term extension?  Why not just try to turn things around and wait him out, if you're the Kings?

That sure makes a lot more sense than trading the most interesting player your moribund franchise has had in years while you're still in the midst of tearing up downtown Sacramento to build your expensive new stadium right on the heels of nearly selling the team to Seattle.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

That is acceptable - for now.

Another year? two years? Will it still be acceptable to Cousins? Missing the playoffs.

That will be 6-7 years in the NBA without even getting to the playoffs for Cousins. How patient is Cousins going to be? How many superstars do you see go their first 7 years in the NBA without making the playoffs + stay loyal to organization ... to believe in their capacity to build a winner around that star?

This is still very much in play. Not right now but in the near future. Next 12-24 months.

Sacramento has an awful lot of work to do to get the Kings back into the playoffs in an incredibly tough Western Conference. Especially given the lack of talent around Cousins on the roster already.
