I can't help but feeling LBJ  was scouting , to see how how much he ll have to play for them to win the series.   Maybe he just felt he needed to make an appearance on the court for the home fan.....which I can understand .

Seems IF they wanted to win, they would have played Irving or let Love and LBJ attempt to win.

The game was very winnable for Cavs when Love and James left to rest.

Seems awful suspect .

It was a win ..win...the announcers said the bench needed practice .....we were practice for the bench.....so they got that too......and losing was probably in their best interest anyways...so they could meet the C's.....oh well ...it is what it is ....we might have done the same

LeBron had a plan ....and it didn't seem winning the game was top of that agenda

All that aside ...I enjoyed the win anyways .....the Nets would not be in the playoff chase if they had not had all kinds of similar breaks .

I ll take it. :D
If we win tomorrow and lose out rest players hopefully we can get the 8th lol

Of Miami, Brooklyn, Indiana and Boston... it's pretty clear we are the least threatening team.  Obviously they'd want us in Round 1.  That'd be a cake-walk for them.  It'd be over in 3 games.

Screw what they want...I WANT the Cavs in the first round!

Let them think that it will be an easy series...this team has absolutely nothing to lose and I'm sure Coach will have them ready for whoever we have to face in the first round.

But to be able to end Lebron's year once again...as the commercial says, priceless.  And if we don't, we'll go down fighting...the players will get valuable experience...and we can hang our head high about 2015.

Bring on the playoffs!

This is the right mentality.  Exactly how i'd want it as well

LeBron seems to make it easy to hate any team he is on.   ;)

As much as I hate to admit it I'm pretty sure the OP is right. I mean would you rather play vets and a playoff tested team in the Nets/Heat or would you rather face the young pups tasting their first playoff experience? IT is our biggest go to guy and weapon and he's struggled against Clevleand (when there starters played).

Pretty much the point I was trying to make.

I am not taking anything away from us.

What I am stating is that we are a young, inexperienced team with no real presence in the paint and just feel we are a bad match-up for a star-studded, stacked team like the Cavs.

Literally every team in the league is doing this. Is this what we are resorting to degrading our wins?

I am not degrading our win.

I just find it very strange that Cleveland, who did start Lebron and Love, wouldn't continue playing them in the 4th quarter as the game was still within reach.

Agreed. It doesn't mean it wasn't a good win though regardless who's out there we won and had to have played well and we did. Looking at overall records since the break were up there with the 2 best teams in the east we deserve some credit.

Btw that's not at you gpap just speaking in general

Look at it this way.  Playing the Cavs in the playoffs will give us a chance to watch LeBum have one of his Playoff Meltdowns.

I would call Miami the least threatening.  Brooklyn next.  Then us.  Then the Pacers.

I think perimeter defense is what makes us somewhat dangerous against the Cavs.  We have the personnel with more potential to make things more difficult for James and Irving to get into rhythm than the rest of the teams fighting for the bottom of the playoffs.

Play good d, spread the floor on offense, and hope to hit some shots.  That's our chance to stay competitive.

C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I think other teams would consider Brooklyn a bit more threatening than us. Probably just because of an established coach with a more veteran lineup who have progressed during the second half. I do agree with you that Miami is the least threatening because of injuries and poor play, and Indiana is the dangerous of this bunch especially with George's return.

I don't see why the Cavs should care which of the pathetic bottom seed teams they face.  They'll win in 5 games or fewer regardless.

I don't think you have watched Miami and Brooklyn if you think they are more threatening. Their SRS, point differential and amount of times they have been blown out is off the charts. Brooklyn has lost 21 games by 10+ points. Miami has lost 28 games by 10+ points. For Miami, that's Detroit, LAL, Sac, Orlando bad. They are easily taken out of their game. Those teams are lucky to even have the record they have based on how often they give up and get mentally thrown off their game.

Anyway it doesn't really matter. The Cavs are heavy favorites no matter what. They aren't positioning themselves for an "easier" 1st round matchup. That'd just be silly. They are just doing it for rest like any other NBA team in the history of the league who has had their seed locked up.
