It just amazes me Danny couldn't have offered more than what the Jazz got for him.

He´s not interested in paying Kanter after this season

Isnt he a free agent this summer?  Restricted free agent or something.

I don't think Danny saw the point in wasting assets to trade for someone he could sign this summer without giving up chips.  Also since making the playoffs this season is a really low priority from Danny's perspective.  He'll work with it if we make it, but his job is probably a lot easier if the ping pong balls gift us a top 4 pick this summer.  Maintaining cap space is a major priority as well. Don't want to blow our Kevin love free agent pipe dream by wasting cap space on lesser talent.

We've since gone on a bit of a run and seems our pick is destined for the 10-17 range.  Oh well.  Probably not what Danny hoped for, but he might have an easier time trading some of our players if they prove capable of making the playoffs.

Which was a first, a second, and clearing $3.75 million in payroll next year for a player who's going to get a huge raise and/or walk come July.

It just amazes me that people think we need another offensive big who lives in the post and plays suspect defense.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

No one on this current team "lives in the post". Zeller, sure, but he is the definition of mediocre. I like him, but he's not close to Kanter's level offensively. Sullinger? He's always been an overrated post player. Not because he shoots a bunch of 3s either, but because he is actually a lot more limited in the post than people want to believe. He's decent, though.

I do agree that I wanted a defensive minded center before an offensive minded one, though..

I got the impression that they wanted any possible long term piece they traded for to be locked up past this season.  No possible renters.
