If you consider where he was drafted and you told any team drafting a 19 year old in that spot "In two to four years you'll have an excellent defensive player who is a decent shooter, who averages about 14ppg, who will get hurt from time to time, and will sign a semi reasonable long term contract with you" almost any team would take that quite happily.
