I don't really get your question. He had the opportunity to reject this trade and be bought out from Brooklyn. So why would he accept this trade and then ask to be bought out? Secondly, I doint Minnesota would trade for KG to sit him on the bench he's going to be playing.

he got traded and waive his NTC
then says or ask minny organization, i want to go to a contending team for my final year to help them pass 1st or 2nd round playoffs
next season i can report to you guys mentor young guys or be one of the minny team owners or defensive specialist coach etc;

KG didn't want to be bought out. I don't think he really cares for the buyout system, i.e. old vets chasing rings. He probably hears about Ray Allen's current situation (sitting out and then choosing what top team to hop to) and says, I don't want to be a part of that.

KG wants to be in a place that has meaning to him. Minnesota isn't winning anything this year but he cares about his legacy. I would have loved to have him come here and mentor our young guys, but tbh I don't think Boston (in its current state) means much to him at all. Other than Bass, Sully, and Bradley I don't think there is anyone else left from when he was last on the team.

don't really follow the question, or thread title, or poll. would you be able to redo them and add some clarity? that would help a lot of posters i think.

thanks.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

KG is in 'Sota.  That's where he will be for at least the rest of this season.  Whether he retires or moves onto another organization before next year remains to be seen.

I get what you're asking though.  Like a prior poster above said, to paraphrase, Garnett cares about his image/legacy.  Sure, he doesn't like to be on a losing team, but he has his ring, has made more money than most people and their future generations will see in a couple lifetimes.  I think he's at the point where he wants to finish his career on his own terms...If it's in Minnesota, so be it.  He had to agree to the trade... He obviously has no problem being there, losing or not.

If I understand the question correctly, the answer, to the best of my knowledge, is no. I believe, under the CBA, a player who is bought out, traded, or cut must wait a full calendar year before being able to sign back with the team they left. Any of the cap savants here have full disclosure to correct me if I'm wrong.

The KG trade really adds to Minny's failure. They essentially traded a first for old KG, considering they traded a first for Thad Young (in a move that was odd when they did it).

It reminds me of when Allen Iverson returned to the Sixers a few years ago. Or even Ben Wallace's return to the Pistons. It's great for the fan's perspective, and KG can help mentor and tutor the young guys.

I don't think anyone can call Minny a failure after clearly making the right decision and trading away Kevin Love. They'll be clear winners of the trade from this summer is Love walks this summer.
