Not a chance.

I'd trade him for Cousins in a heartbeat if there was ever a chance to do so.

Too bad Sactown isn't trading him for Okafor. would probably need to throw in other pieces
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

If Brad Stevens takes the Indiana job we could trade for Cousins and hire Mike Malone. Everybody's happy.

Cousins would be the best big in the East. Lure Kevin Love. That's a contender.

Aside: if we get any coach other than Stevens I'd want Ron Adams or Thibbs.

WOW, that's a great front court that I want to see. Maybe not right away but a contender in the east in about 2-3 years.

But, if we do land the #1 pick, I want to experiment with Okafor...we're rebuilding anyways

"IF" the East stays as is? and "IF" Okafor can pull off a Tim Duncan and be productive in his 1st year....I mean "Tim Duncan rookie season" productive?

Then I think we could get a playoff spot next season.

Keep same roster, including Bass...keep Sully at 4...and hope that Marcus can get better (I believe he will).

That is a bit too many "IFs" for me...I'd rather Danny just flip him for Demarcus....

No man. We dont need Cousins. The guy is a cancer. Okafor will be a better professional and is just as skilled

OK, I'm listening. Tell me exactly what makes him a "Cancer" or at least how you define cancer.

Yes, he does have some attitude issues and tends to mope and complain when things don't go his way. Even at his young age, he is immature when compared to the rest of his age group. I will definitely give you that. However, that doesn't make someone a cancer. Cancers spread their disease. Is their even a shred of evidence that Cousins is a negative influence on the team and that the team is worse off due to his mere presence? No. In fact, whenever Cousins is out for an extended period of time, the Kings fall completely apart.

If complaining to refs and doing some immature things (like flinging Smart to the ground) makes someone a Cancer, then you need to apply that label to guys like Rondo and even KG. When a Celtic does it, it's fire and passion. When it's a non-Celtic, they are a cancer. I love KG but he has done some incredibly immature things and continues to do them at age 38 and Rondo has seen to have matured a bit since his injury, but prior to that he was a time bomb waiting to go off, tossing balls at refs, etc.

Please tell, in specifics, how Cousins is a cancer. Let me know how he destroyed team morale and negatively influenced teammates. Let me know how he would be addition by subtraction for Sacramento like a Cancer definitely would. Please give me some support for the Cancer label.

I think you've made the case best. Continually complaining and moaning to the refs, while his team is being attacked on the other end. Inability to deal with pressure by a rookie playing tough defense. These are the events that his teammates see continually.  Not many watch Sacramento on a regular basis to see the nightly antics of Cousins. I'm sure there are more. I think he must feel, "I'm the leader on this team" his team mates begin emulating him, and acting the same way. Cancer.

KG seldom if ever complained to refs, while his team gave up baskets at the other end. He talked trash during the action with in the game, he was the defensive voice of the team.

So Lebron and the heat were cancer?  ::) remember the game where Rondo gave the interview about how the heat were complaining to the refs? Im sorry, but that doesnt make anyone a cancer. The mere fact that they play a whole lot better with him on the floor shows he is contrary to what you and other posters say he is.

Those are maturity issues and there is no evidence to show that they are negatively affecting his teammates and that the team would be better if he was removed from the equation. That would be needed to be a "cancer". A cancer is a disease that cannot be allowed to spread or it would ultimately be ultimately be fatal. If Cousins is a true cancer, they wouldn't fall apart whenever he is removed from the equation.

I'm still waiting for specifics on how he negatively affected teammates. Saying that the teammates see this behavior and emulate it is not enough. Show me these cases of this purported poor emulated behavior.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it.

The only Okafor that might play for this team is Emeka, if he decides to make a comeback and wants an opportunity at a starting gig.

A playoff spot isn't guaranteed if it isn't injury-proof.

We'd have to see how Okafor responds in this league.  But with a solid starting Center, yes, guaranteed playoffs with this current team.

The Kings do fall apart. They fell apart enough times.

For example against the Celtics, he starts to whine non stop to the refs.  The team has to try to calm him down, instead of focusing on the game plan.  The dummy move wrestling Smart down the ground getting kicked out of the game, messes up your teams chance to win.

If Cousins was a rookie or 3rd guy on the team, it wouldn't matter that much if he was a big baby. But he is the franchise player.  Guys depend on him.  If he plays with fire, positivity the team follows.

yeah keep on bringing the Celtics game up. It was obvious that was a low for him, production wise as well. Being a cancer has been defined, arguments showing he wasnt any of that was presented, why do you keep on arguing a point that was rebutted?

I think your blinded by the "flash" instead of looking at the wider picture.   Just like some here that are for whatever reason big on Carmelo "I don't care about money" Anthony.

History has shown led by these kind of players teams never get anywhere. Especially far in the playoffs.  There is a reason why guys like Duncan, Bryant, Wade have repeatedly gone far into the playoffs on the other hand

Why wait for Jahlil Okafor in the off season, when another rim protecting Okafor (Emeka) is available right now?

We'd have to see how Okafor responds in this league.  But with a solid starting Center, yes, guaranteed playoffs with this current team.
The last sentence is true.  Does Okafor qualify as that in his rookiie season?  Very unlikely.  However, there's a very good chance we'd still get to the playoffs. Heck, we probably have a 1 in 3 chance this season as of right now.

I'd certainly flip the 1st pick for Cousins though.  He's grown as a person, he's very talented, and the real problem in SAC is the owner and FO.

Rasheed Wallace used to be a headcase too but he proved that he is a championship caliber player. This is the guy that can compete with KG and Duncan when focused.

And Cousins is no different. He can be the best center in the league with the right mindset. Maybe hanging with winners will make him grow mentally.

Good as Okafor could be, we're in a better position for Cauly-Stein, who might be a better fit anyways - he's that rim protector we all covet, no?
