I'm a 31 year old die hard Celts fan and have been so my whole life. My wife and I purchased a house and are very much looking forward to getting a dog (prob some sort of a lab mix) in the next couple months. I am a big dog person, and wanted to give the dog a name that is Celtics related.

I originally had picked out the name 'Rondo' and had literally been planning on that for the last 3 or 4 years, but since he was traded before we got the dog, am thinking of trying to find something else. I grew up watching Pierce ever since middle school, and he is my all time favorite so I was thinking of 'Pierce' as a name (although I did think 'Rondo is a better dog name') and since he will always be remembered as a Celtic that was a thought , but I am definitely open to suggestions. Also I'm not really a fan of the name 'Lucky'.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

-J

When I was growing up we had a Shihtzu simply named "Celtic." We actually got alot of compliments on the name for its originality, but it was simply after our favorite basketball team lol

Side note: I had a cat named Ricky Davis several years back, but he has since passed on. :'(

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I have also heard that two syllables, with the second ending in a long vowel, is good for the dog.

Rondo would have been great dog name. Still is, I think.

If you need a Celtic name that can never lose its Celtic-ness, then go with Larry.

Heinsohn could also work.

Hondo.  Chief.  Satch.  Dino.  Roy Hobbs.

I think Hondo is the best.  Purely Celtic -- can't think of any other Hondo and Havlicek was/is a lifer.

If you were getting a Russell Terrier, I might have different advice. Him I'd call Bill.
