That's a solid deal for both teams I think, with Denver winning it in a way.

Cavs fill a need. Denver gets more than enough for Mosgov, and it opens room for Jusuf Nurkic to play more, who has been goood.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Denver already thinks their best center is Jusuf Nurkic. Those aren't great picks or anything, but this is still good trade for the Nuggets.

I guess the Cavs got the best fit that they could under the circumstances, but even for that price I'd have thought they could get a better player.

If they do, they're right.  Nurkic is good.  Very fluid on offense and very mobile for his size.  Defensively, he's better than advertised too.  Quite a combination of touch, toughness, and mobility.

Did you guys realize that Timofey Mozgov is a "rim protector?"

apparently, Timofey Mozgov was traded for because he protects rims somehow. For example, he ranks 37th in the league in contest percentage! 26th in blocks per game! 27th among centers in opponent FG% at the rim!

In other words, he makes Tyler Zeller look like Fort Knox. Good luck with that, Cavs!

I'm with you all on that. I'd have been fist pumping a lot harder than Bill Simmons was had Denver selected Young at 16 and left Nurkic for us at 17.

Mosgov is definitely serviceable to the Cavs and this is definitely a desperate move by the Cavs to upgrade their roster. i do not know who starts at SG but

Shumpert/Smith are both average - good offensive players and Shumpert being a good defender as well

Mosgov can provide them the center they need where they lost in Varejao

They need to win now or next year to prevent a decision part 3

Desperation.  Mozgov isn't that good.

I assume you believe Mozgov is good, though not that, i.e. two first-round picks, good.

Despite the overpay, Mozgov is a tremendous addition to that team. Cavs can also probably afford to overpay after being the clear winners in the recent 3-team trade. It's a win-now move, and I like it for them. If you're going to give up Wiggins for Love, you have to be willing to give up a little extra in draft considerations to complete the puzzle. Otherwise, if the plan is to be patient for a couple of years, I don't see why they didn't just keep Wiggins. If they can bring on Dalembert or trade for Wright using their TPE and two 2nds, I love their team.

When Lebron is healthy, they can stagger his minutes with Kyrie's so that one of the two is always on the floor to handle the ball. They can sign a 3rd stringer like Will Bynum (is he playing overseas now?) or even Sebastian Telfair to pick up scrap minutes.

I like the move for the Cavs.  Mozgov has been pretty good this year (basically 12/11/1.5 per 36).  He is a solid defender, doesn't require the ball offensively, and is a pretty good foul shooter for a big guy so he isn't a liability on that end in crunch time.

Denver has been my second favorite team for the past few years and I have watched a lot of their games.  I also think this is a good move for the Cavs.  They now have a young, developing Center to go with LeBron.  He will be a good role player for them.l
