Cuban also said he was looking at Ellis, Parsons and Rondo as their core for the future.

That may be the worst Big 3 yet.

Cuban had a nice quote about making the core of the team younger. They have switched from guys like Shawn Marion and Jason Kidd who were in their mid-to-late 30s to guys like Rondo, Ellis and Tyson who are late 20s early 30s.

That they have changed the rest of the core around Dirk from very old players (NBA standards) to players who are in or near their prime years (29-32) for winning in the NBA with Rondo, Ellis and Tyson Chandler. That this gives them a stronger foundation to build around for next few years (presumably 3-5 seasons) and a better chance of keeping the team strong as Dirk continues to get older.

If you're going to claim that Danny trading Rondo means that he agrees with your opinion, you'd have to accept the likelihood that Danny's not trading him for the last 3-4 or so years you've been hoping to ship him out of Boston meant that he didn't agree with your position during all that time.

Why? Rondo was shopped pretty heavily during those years.

Or the only time Danny tried to trade him was for CP3, depending on which rumors you buy into.

Yeah through the years Ainge was open to trading Rondo, but that didn't mean he was actively trying to trade him.

Sorry, but anyone who bought that 'they called us, we didn't call them' line over the years is naive. Remember your GM just traded the guy for spare parts. Ainge didn't wake on December 15 and have a change of heart. Since the season started, and with fingers crossed he'd stay healthy, He knew that he needed to trade Rondo in those 2-3 days due to offseason signings becoming eligible (i.e. ensuring best possible offers), and maintaining pre-deadline flexibility to trade out those he received this season -- which in the case of Wright, is exactly what he's gonna do.
