For me, it's the Spurs - I grew up with David Robinson being one of my favourite players (always a Celtics fan, but Brown/Radja/Fox didn't do it for me).

Now it is even more magnified watching them play the game almost flawlessly.  I used to be bitter about Tim Duncan, and how we didn't win the lottery to get him, but that resentment has long faded away every time I watch him - he truly is the best Power Forward to ever play the game.
Don't get me wrong though, when the Celtics play them, I hope we beat the heck out of them, but, I do have a man-crush with that team/franchise (except for Sean Elliot's commentating!).

Same here. Loved Robinson as a kid after I read his biography and the team became my "Western Conference favorite". Continued to root for them during their battles with the Lakers in the late 90s - early aughts. They basically was/became the franchise I wish the Celtics could be - homegrown stars, unselfish team play, lack of attitude, etc. Sure, it hurt that the Celtics missed out on Duncan and didn't draft Parker (WHY JOE FORTE) but you can only respect what the Spurs' organization has done the past 20 years.

Sure a lot of their success is inextricably tied to Duncan but they also didn't f--- it up. Pitino definitely would have f----- it up because Duncan would probably have left after four years.

Agreed 100% - I actually had that thought the other week, Duncan would have bolted the mess Pitino would have made almost certainly.
You are also spot on, the Spurs just did not mess anything up - the players they drafted, the player development, the front office - very easy to be envious of them.
Having said that though, with Brad Stevens & Danny Ainge, I think Boston have a great front office that will give us every chance to be successful moving forward.

Houston Rockets and Golden State Warriors would probably be my favorites other than the C's. Two of the most exciting teams in the NBA, for sure.

This thread is in severe violation of all the posting rules of the CelticsBlog.
If there were no Celtics, our world would be bleak and meaningless.

Mavs - I love Cuban.

There are days where I wish NBA owners would have to take the CUBAN test in order to buy the team. Cheapskate owners bum me out.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Mavs - I love Cuban.

He is getting more and more annoying, especially with his net neutrality comments.

My team would probably be the Mavs or Kings, though.  Kings have Boogie and Bill Walton randomly announces their games a lot.  I loved them in the early 2000s when I was in high school, that Webber/Bobby Jackson/Peja/Vlade Divac/Doug Christie line up was so fun to watch.

I am a Celtics fan first, but the NBA is not like other leagues.  It's a lot easier to watch other teams and enjoy it compared to say the MLB.  Fantasy makes it easier to watch random NFL games, but still, basketball is the best.
