Brad, please play Zeller instead of Bass. Last year Bass had the worst on/off court plus or minus on the team, and that has continued this year.

Every time Bass comes in, I know the other team is going to start shooting layups and dunks.

Bass only played 15 minutes tonight, and Zeller 21 minutes. I think it's all good.

Bass is our 4th big, but he has his place in the game. He's our best big man when it comes to switching onto wings and defending the 3 point line.

I agree. At least twenty minutes a night for Zeller. He really does have a great feel around the basket and doesn't try to do more than he's capable of.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If and when we trade Oly or Sully for a bonafide starting defensive center, rotations will fall into place a lot better. Zeller as the back up C and Bass as the back up PF really make sense for a competitive team.

If we do not make that kind of trade, it makes more sense to trade Bass to a team that will utilize him better.

In my opinion Zeller needs and deserves more minutes. Not because he is an extraordinary talent, I think with more confidence, and a bit more physicality, he could be a decent starter/backup in the future.

I happen to like Bass, I see him as a nice piece on a contender. He scores well, that 15-18 foot jumper is money in the bank. But, to sign him to new contract at this stage of the teams development is foolish. He most likely will be gone at the trade deadline. But to get something for him he has to play a little.

Zeller should get more of his minutes in the rotation. Honestly, I like Zeller as the starting center, with KO, and with Sully coming of the bench.

Nice post.

I agree...

Kelly is still young and very inconsistent, which is why I think Bass should come in more often when Kelly is having an off night or if we need a little bit defense. I also don't see Bass in our future but admit he is a good rotation player. I hope Zeller can somehow become our starting center with Sully alongside with him and Kelly off the bench

So, Zeller deserves more minutes, because some day he can be as good as Bass is right now.

I agree with everything except Zeller starting. I think KO and Sully are fine starting till a true starting level center is brought in. (When that happens I love the idea of KO as a super sub in a 3 big rotation.) I want to see Bass traded because I think he will fill a nice role on a contender.

We took on 8 million dollars in salary, also given his current production he doesn't really fit a team that fancies itself a contender.

He had a nice second year, proving to be a rotation player with potential to be a poor starter or quality backup.
