That game was great. From top to bottom. The 1st half was awesome because the Celtics did the right thing and tanked hard to make sure the game was out of reach. Then they playe hard the 2nd half and showed promise. I was nervous for a second that they were going to pull it off but thankfully they showed grit and heart but came up short. Some good things to take away from this game

-Rondo had 16 dimes. He would be a good fit as a role player on a contender that needs a point guard upgrade. Even a team like OKC that should move Westbrook to the 2.

-Jeff Green showing some consistency through 3 games. Now is the time to move him.

-Stevens is a good coach. Need to keep him so he can coach up Okafor or Towns Jr next year.

The Bad

-As I have mentioned for the past few months, Marcus Smart is Marcus Banks 2.0. Not an impressive player at all to take in the lottery as those are the picks that can and should get Danny Ainge fired if it doesn't work out. He can play great defense? So can't Avery Bradley and Tony Allen. Would you take either one in a redraft in their respective classes?

-Olynyk cannot play defense, period.

All and all, my dreams of a 15 win season are still alive. I want to see competitive basketball and a bunch of buzzer beating losses to make sure the right thing happens and the Ping pong balls go our way finally. We are due to get a franchise altering talent. Just need to make sure the GM who is picking the player is intelligent enough not to grab a defensive specialist with no offensive ability 6th overall.

Focusing on Marcus Smart after last night's game as "The Bad" pretty much invalidates your whole analysis.

In the first half neither could Sully.

And all the "Good" players need to be traded ASAP, presumably so we can avoid playing like this every game.

considering the OP's only position is that this team needs to stink as much as possible because he thinks the next godsend is at the top of every draft, the lack of sense in the post doesn't surprise me.
1. Smart is bad because he only plays D.
2. Team needs to lose.
3. Team should not play Smart.

-->if Smart is bad and team needs to be bad then Smart should play.

the argument, as ridiculous and baseless as it is, falls apart as nonsense even when not picking it apart for lack of facts

I strongly suspect we can lose consistently without any major tweaks.

I stopped taking you seriously after this. I skimmed through the rest of your post and honestly, you come off as a troll.

Marcus Smart was the "bad" of the game? Really?

I'm far from a troll. I just want what's best for this team to get to the mountain top again. If Banks 2.0 was taken late 1st, early 2nd round I wouldn't have a problem with it. But at 6, in the deepest draft in a decade you should be able to draft someone who can create his own shot.

I'll say that if the celtics play this right and Okafor or Towns comes here this team will be a title contender quicker than if they just try to make the playoffs. That's why Philly is in a great position right now. Same with Minnesota. They bought into sucking short term for long term gains which is a necessity in a mid market like Boston, Minnesota or Philly.
