is it possible with smarts defensive reputation being so hyped by players as well as coaches and his USA camp exposure the refs may allow him to play to build a new NBA star---after i just finished watching some footage of his defense his fighting over top ,lateral movement, his arm length, his balance and brute strength-that clip was OMG-a sheer bit of genius, athleticism and determination-i was taught man to man pressure d  by rollie massimino-you just can't teach what i just saw-

I sure hope so, he is just so physical...even if he doesn't become an all star, I wonder if he can be our enforcer :). Those charges he took, the fighting over screens, this kid is just so bulky. It's exciting to watch him defend the other players. I can just imagine him and Bradley on defense...whoooo

you know after Perk left, no body really assumed the role.

boston garden should start in pre season with defensive chants and ovations for smart and bradley to get referees in tune with what basketball fans want to see-not traveling and phantom calls to protect ballerinas but to let marcus become the michael jordon /mike tyson of defense-i'm still shaking my head, muttering wow in a silent ovation to what i just watched-
