It'd be great if we could catch a break once in a while.  I'm tired of all the injuries and mishaps that have plagued us since we won it all in 2008.

But on the bright side, as least Marcus Smart will get some extra playing time.

I guess I'll get use to the Lottery gig.........maybe  :'(

Ugh.....

So if we see a dude with a busted up face or somebody missing teeth ...

It just cost Rondo about 20 million in future salary

Kinda sucks but probably ensures a few more losses, whilst developing Smart and Bradley.

I wonder who starts season at PG and SG if Rondo is out?

I'm going to say Pressey, because Smart's a rookie, and, 6th pick or not, I don't see Stevens starting a rookie on opening night.  Do I wish it would happen?  Yes, of course, but I doubt it.

I wonder what was ainges reaction when he heard. Wyc also. They must be disappointed about the situation

Sucks, but for a guy that has missed as much time as he has, something was bound to happen.  Slipping in the shower and breaking a hand is a bit of an odd one.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Honestly why rush him back if we're not going to contend? Let him miss the first 10 games.

Even if the cynical side of me tells me to doubt the story, I choose to believe it until I hear something other than pure speculation to the contrary.

Why? What good does it do you?

Strange question but I'll take it seriously.  I like to choose (when I am able) to believe that people are telling the truth partly because it leaves me feeling better about people, and partly because I believe that people tell the truth more often than they lie.

Yeah, I guess I like to believe what I think is true, regardless of how it makes me feel about people. It almost sounds like you're saying you prefer to willingly put your head in the sand in some situations if it'll make you feel better.

And I'm not really all that suspicious about what happened mostly because I don't care that much how it happened. I wouldn't think any less of Rondo if I found out he lied about it. Heck, I've done way worse things than lie about a hand injury before.

It may sound that way, but it would be a misinterpretation of my meaning. If I have no evidence other than cynnicism to back me up, I prefer to believe people are telling me the truth.  If there is other evidence, I may think otherwise.  In this case, i could presume that everything sports organizations say is false, but that would be a cynnical view since only some of the things sports organizations say are false.  Also doesn't mean I won't listen to reason or will ignore evidence (which would be putting a head in the sand) -- just means that I think that there is currently no evidence to think otherwise other than the desire to think negatively.  So I don't want to go there yet.

Do we know which hand. Rondo has extremely big hands and relies on them a lot obviously. This is nothing to rush. For someone who thinks too much this will give him way too much time to stew. Smart will hopefully come out of the blocks strong.

ugghh!

great, now we're going to go back to Rondo playing 1 game & not playing the next. and we'll get to speculate all season if his struggles are because of an injury(i'm sure there'll be more) or he's rusty, or he's not as good as he was, or he was only good because he had the big 3 around him.

guarantee there were some decent offers this off-season out there that we didn't jump on because Danny has delusions of grandeur in wanting to build around Rondo.

[dang]! i'm peed right now!

What makes you Danny's delusional about building around Rondo? Besides Rondo's value before the injury was low. Danny is being patient no need to throw Rondo under the bus already.

Because it's contract year for him.
