Don't get why people wrote cool story bro either...

Wouldn't you be excited to meet Oly in person?...

I remember one time my friend met Paul Pierce backstage, and Pierce answered a few of his questions, and gave him a signed Celtics t-shirt... I mean... whats with all the negativity here?

I just wanna know the same, does he have game, and how is he in person?

Very cool story.  Thanks for sharing!  It's always nice to hear that the players on your favorite team aren't jerks.

Good story -- thanks.   Really irritated me to see the first 2 responses.   Completely unecessary.

Good to hear that he seems like a good guy and spoke highly of the C's and the coach.   I don't blame you for not trying to get info -- he's out with friends just having a good time.

I will reiterate

Just kidding. Just to be clear it is a joke and I and the other people were joking. Nothing to get upset about.

Yeah, I agree, that's awesome, TPs for both of you!  Your friend was sooo lucky!  I got a picture with Tommy at Mohegan Sun one year, and then went back the next year and got it signed - does that count lol?  Actually, my mom asked for me because I was too shy.  Ugh.  Looking back, I wish that I had cut my hair, because the picture didn't exactly come out that great haha, but I'll take it.  It's been framed and is around here somewhere ;D

Did KO have his Jesus locks back, btw?  I saw a clip about a week ago of him with some kids and it looked like his mane had returned ;)  NOOOOOOOO!  So I guess what I'm asking for is more 'deets' ::)  We've already had a thread devoted to KO's new beach body ;D , so tell me, how'd he look? ;)

... I wholeheartedly believe in my heart that he will lead the team in scoring this year and the side by side stats as compared to Dirk's rookie year are not just a coincidence...
I like your optimism, and your conviction but I don't see it happening. he missed an awful lot of shots even as recently as Summer League. I would be curious to compare his FG% to a young Dirk.

I live in Kamloops, B.C., his hometown. Some lads and I went out to the local and only trendy sports bar and unbeknownst to me a friend of a friend balled with K.O. and he decided to show up.

I'm going to respect the guy and leave out any details because it was just a regular night out with the tallest person I have ever met in my life, but the one thing I will say, I wholeheartedly believe in my heart that he will lead the team in scoring this year and the side by side stats as compared to Dirk's rookie year are not just a coincidence. He has laser focus, like in any business that's something almost impossible to fake.

You can rest assured knowing he is not cocky, not ignorant, treats people with respect and loves the Boston Celtics and the direction they are going. He also thinks Brad Stevens is an absolute beauty. I didn't turn into a fanboy and ask all the questions I would have loved to ask, there were too many girls there, ha ha.

is this where we are supposed to say "cool story bro"

Nah, I don't care what you say, if I needed to impress people on a blog to be cool or make sarcastic comments on one that would nullify the possibility of it being true. Just sharing a night with one of the Celtics on Celticsblog, the only people that will understand the love. IT was cool, and thanks for the nice comments guys.

Great story. Now I'm going to harp on something.
You say "partying with Oly" but unless you provide details, I think it was more like "hanging with Oly". How'd you party: Irish car bombs? Shot gunning tall boys in the alley out back? Pitchers of beer? Etc.....
Celtics fan for life.

Double TPs to you as well as the OP. Good stuff!

I also live in British Columbia and was elated when Kelly was drafted by my favorite team. Glad to hear stories which support my belief that he is a down to earth guy.

Can't wait to see him and Sully at the PF this year.

He seems like a Guinness guy to me....

Man I always wanted to meet Tommy. Despite his homer-ism, he seems like a very fun and intelligent man to be around.

TP for sharing zee story.

Does that mean that you want to see KO at center and Sully at power forward, or do you want to see both of them play at the 4 spot?

I was amazed at how accessible he was lol.  He was just sitting there court-side.  Now, because it was so long ago I can't remember his demeanor, but I think it was more of a, "okay, let's get this over with," or something.  Honestly, his signature doesn't look like it spells his name, but something else, so maybe he was drunk or whatever lol ;D

I will tell you this though, and I believe that I have written this before, albeit a while ago - the moment we were done taking the picture (and yes, of course I said thank you haha), we were going to our seats I believe, and a few middle aged guys were there with their kids, and when we mentioned that we'd just taken a photo with him, the guy turned into a little kid, "Tommy!?  He's here!?  The Tommy Heinsohn!?  Oh my god!"  I don't know what happened after that, but it was pretty funny.  He was like, "hold on kids, I've got to see Tommy!" ;D  Hey, I completely understand.  I've only been to two preseason games, both at Mohegan, and the year I got the picture was 06-07 and the next year was 07-08.  It was cool seeing Pierce on the court.  I was probably 20-30 feet away from him :o  I just remember being so nervous, not only when we took the picture, but even more so the year after, because I didn't want to seem like some annoying fan.  I figured that he'd see the photo and think, "you got your picture - what more do you want?"  I hate to admit it, but I completely chickened out, and it was only because of my mom that I got the autograph.  It would have been better if she hadn't used the blown-up version, because it didn't look great with all of the various marks etc. already on it, not to mention the fact that she had it printed with Merry Christmas on it.  Ugh.  Having me in the picture didn't exactly help in the looks department lol, but hey, at least I was wearing my Pierce swingman jersey that, while it may be a dress on me haha, I found in the clearance aisle of Bob's for $15.00 :o  Seriously.  I should have taken my jacket off, but I still wouldn't trade that picture for anything.  It kind of sucks how Boston stopped playing there and now go to the XL Center (or as we call it, the Extra Large Center ;D ), because I think that it's more expensive, but I haven't looked at the prices for a long time.  I wish that the Celtics would play 3-4 games a year in Hartford like they did in the Bird years.  Now that would be awesome, but alas, it's never going to happen.  Sigh.

I would add to the crew. Cool story, bro.

Which leads me to asking, if you one of any of the current Celtics players right now, and you and him will only have time to ask and answer one question, what would you ask, and who?
