Until we see them play in the NBA it is silly.

I think Marcus Smart plays like Smart and James Young like Young.

Marcus Smart: Joe Dumars!
James Young: Michael Redd

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Marcus smart - --  MJ
James Young -  --  Bird
Rondo - --     Magic

I don't see why we don't win the next 6 titles, unless Marcus retires after 3.

Seems like a waste of time. He just said it the once and I understood what he was getting at.

Marcus Smart---Dwayne Wade
James Young---Cuttino Mobley

I agree with this. I think on draft night they compared Young to MoPete as well. If that's what we landed at 17, then I'm a fan.

I really loved the Mo Pete comparison as well.

I don't think the Marcus Smart comparison to D-Wade is right, Smart doesn't have young-Wade's insane first step, and Smart's also heavier and stronger than Wade was as a rookie, but not as tall or long.

I'm trying to think of a point guard who just bullied people to the basket and played good defense. Maybe a more athletic Mark Jackson?

A bigger, less quick, smarter Eric Bledsoe?

On Mo Pete, I know he was of similar height but did he have the same long arms as young? I have high hopes for Young, even if I don't expect to see much until his third year. I wouldn't be surprised if he could give us spot third string minutes at the 3 where all he does is spot up for 3's.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Marcus Smart ~ Chauncey Billups

James Young ~ Reggie Miller

You've got the 6'3" combo guard with the thick build, score first mentality with the ability to lead a team and distribute. Old Big 12 conference roots. Top pick after their sophomore seasons.

Then you've got the lanky shooter with an unconventional style but loads of potential, particularly in shooting the rock.

If we get some facsimile of Billups and Miller with these picks, I think everyone would agree we're pumped.

Until we see them play in the NBA it is silly.

Saying a rookie will be as good as another is silly, but a stylistic comparison can help some people see what sort of role the rookie can play within the team.

It's always fun to go to old drafts and look at the comparisons, they're usually hilariously off base
