why is anyone even discussing this anymore.

He is going back to Cleveland. Only move that makes sense for his legacy.
I said 4 years ago he would return to Cleveland cause he doesn't want to be hated there the rest of his life

Prove it! ;D

Question: If LeBron signs with Cleveland, can Cleveland use bird rights on Luol Deng to sign him at a market rate and go well over the cap in the process?

If so, doesn't it make more sense to keep your picks, young assets (Wiggins, Bennett, Thompson, Waiters, etc) and add Deng to the mix to create a super team on the wing? The wing rotation would be Wiggins, James and Deng, with Bennett and Thompson able to shift between the 3 & 4.

Alternatively, could they sign & trade Deng to pick up a player or assets if he doesn't go back? Seems like something they need to leverage one way or another.
No to sign LeBron they will need to renounce Deng who has a cap hold of roughly 19 million I believe.

Gotcha. Thanks. That's too bad but certainly understandable.

If he goes back to the Heat, Sheridan loses all credibility.

Do any of these guys aside from Wojo have any credibility?

While Cavs pursue Mike Miller, Miller is getting close to agreeing to terms with Denver, source says

good point.  he could be dead wrong and look like a complete donkey, but 2 weeks from now when he tweets something again, all the hobbyless insider junkies will eat it right up

This is a text my friend sent to me after I shared Sheridan's report with him: "He's a selfish piece of sh*t and the media is going to play it up like he couldn't stand being away from home...and Cleveland has nothing else, so they'll be welcoming him with open arms.  He's going for the $$$ and because he cares only about himself."

Which itself makes little sense for a DEN team w Afflao, WChandler, Galinari, Foye, Gary Harris etc.

And it's been yrs since Sheridan was relevant, right? (think he used to be w USA today?)basically he's taking a 50-50 chance he's "first" and/or that folks will forget he was wrong. Yawn.

Whatever his motivation in (allegedly) returning home, it's not money.  He could get more by staying in Miami.

What about potential profits from a marketing standpoint?  Would a homecoming bring in more revenue than, say, just staying in Miami?

Lol, so true!

And the sickening part is if you thought everyone was kissing Lebron's ass before, wait til you see how much the ESPN, ABC, TNT and NBA TV crew puckers up if Lebron goes back to Cleveland.

The league is going to hype him up as a superstar player with a soft spot in his heart for his home city and paint him out to be an American hero!

It's going to get really unbearable!

Come to think of it, Lebron I am begging you, stay in Miami!

Chris Bosh has decided to sign with the Rockets if LeBron James leaves the Heat, according to ESPN.com.

I think ultimately he makes more money going back to Cleveland. You are right Miami can pay him more, but his opportunity to make 'outside' income is enhanced in Cleveland. The story just sells more, and he will be the man in Cleveland and not have to share the mantle with Dwayne Wade.

his motivation is racking up titles the easiest way possible.  Hes a front runner with no loyalty and doesnt know how to stick around through any kind of adversity.  The guy rooted for the Yankees, Bulls, and Cowboys in the mid- 90s, he likes to just celebrate victories and being the best without having to wait through the bad to get to the good, that makes it more worthwhile to lots of people, but not frontrunners like this guy.

we all remember this kid when we were younger.  His starter jacket changed teams every couple of years.
