I am usually not big on conspiracy theories but I just have this feeling that he is not actually injured but rather being held out because he has been promised in a trade.

Is that even possible by CBA rules?

It seems like a pretty elaborate cover up if that is in fact what is going on.

Why would him, his camp, and the C's make up a story predraft about getting in an accident and getting an injury from it?

Doubt it.  I mean, he could be promised, sure.  But I don't think they're related.  Marcus Smart could also be promised, or be heavily talked about, but they're not sitting him.

The only thing that matters about the CBA with regard to his situation is this:

1) Draftees cannot be traded for 1 month after they sign their rookie contract.
2) Draftees are the only players who can sign contracts during the July moratorium (some have already signed).
3) Neither Smart nor Young have signed a contract, meaning that Ainge is preserving the right to trade either or both in July.

Would they actually play a "promised" player in the summer league?  What if they get injured?

Talked about in a trade is one thing but if a deal is agreed upon but just waiting for some moratorium or something so the trade can be processed would be something more definitive.

It probably is nothing I know but I am just trying to understand what might be possible.

Yes, James Young got into a car crash weeks before the draft preventing him from doing workout for teams all because the Celtics had a trade lined up for them in the future, a team he had yet to be drafted too...

Moving along...

The urge to see "something" is strong.

Everything is frozen until LeBron/Melo sort out what they're doing. Then Bosh will move or not and finally things will stop being gummed up.

Haha yes it is.

Looks like the masterminded "car accident" is keeping Young out for the rest of summer league:

The car accident was legitimate.  It was a hit and run.  Danny Ainge was driving the other car.

I got a pretty good chuckle out of this.

I had this friend in undergrad that swore everything was a "plot" by the government. Called everybody that doesn't agree with his theories "sheep" and "naive". This thread reminded me of him.
