Shockingly, the Lakers are the team that threatens the Knicks in their attempts to re-sign Anthony. Not Chicago or Houston as many expected.

this is what happens when you sleep with the enemy. Jeannie Buss is probably stealing Phil Jackson's notes.

any superstar that willingly choses the western conference over the eastern conference in this period is an idiot imo

Not sure what to make of this decision. I love watching Melo and if we can't win it I wouldn't mind him getting his first. So I naturally thought Chicago was an obvious perfect fit. He has defensive bigs to cover up for his weakness, gives them a much needed go to scorer and takes a lot of pressure of the injured D Rose.

To be down between NY which will be garbage next season as well, even started trading off some of their better players, and LA with..Kobe? How does he fit in LA? Whats there for him? I thought he was all about winning like he said. However I'll reserve judgement until he signs somewhere.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

I think he (and his wife) want to live in one of the biggest celebrity markets in the country. NY and LA fit the bill.

At this point you've got to think it's really the money in New York, or the option of being the face of the Lakers once Kobe retires. Either option looks pretty good, especially with nothing guaranteed in Chicago (see: Rose's health) and Houston also being in the West.

I think the Lakers have moved on from the Age of Jackson.

I still think the chances Melo returns to the Knicks are very high. They can pay him by far the most money, and the East is a total crapshoot.

I'm calling it right now----The Lakers are gonna end up with Kobe...Carmelo...and LeBron---because these Divas cannot live without being talked about all the time---especially LeBron.

if Melo chooses LA---there is NO WAY LeBron can resist that--!

kobe's 2 year 48.5 mm extension makes it impossible for the Lakers to sign Melo and Lebron to max deals.

I hope he picks L.A.--I would love to see the self-destruction that would ensue between him and Kobe.

The Lakers will do a S&T for Melo---Randle + Nash's expiring deal---to open up room for LeBron's deal....Then, Gasol will re-sign.

or most likely, I'm full of S*^%-!

I would love to see both the Lakers and Celtics reload and return to being competitive this season.

The way it should be.

Getting really tired of the same ol' same ol' (Miami, Miami, Miami and Miami. Oh and the rebuilding references.)

Betcha both would take less than the Max---to play together...2 year deals, then they can BOTH get the Max---when Kobe's deal is up.
