I'd be fine with 'Melo going to LA. Usually, I root against the Lakers in any and all free agent acquisitions.
In this case, though, it would be perfect. 'Melo is good, but not good enough to carry a team on his own (as has been proven now across multiple years). Between him and Kobe, their cap space is basically gone. Gasol and Nash are effective in spurts but too old to be consistent. LA signing 'Melo just keeps them in mediocrity.
Even with Randle (this may come as a surprise to some of you, but Randle is not going to be a star. I don't think he is going to be a bust; I expect him to be a very serviceable NBA player, even a starter. But he won't be a star).
