Bos in: DMC, McLemore, 1st rounder
Bos out: Green, Bass, Rondo, Fav, Anthony
Det in: Green, Bass, Anthony
Det out: J-smoove
Sac in: Rondo, J-Smoove, Fav
Sac out: DMC, McLemore, 1st rounder
Why it work: We need a C, Det lacks of a wing scorer & sac want RR9 & J-smoove.
If we resign AB, Humph & Bayless then sign Hayward or Parson we'll have:
PG: Smart, Bayless, Pressey
SG: Bradley, McLemore
SF: Hayward/Parson, Young
PF: Sully, Oly, Humph
C: DMC, C.Iverson
Thoughts?

This is the part I don't get.

Sacramento gives up arguably the best player in the deal, plus they give up a #1 and take on the worst contract.  I don't understand what their incentive is.

There is no way Sac gives up DMC unless they get a superstar back.  End of story...

@Geo123 Sac gets Rondo & J-Smoove. Both are superstars, they also get a not-bad rim protector in Faverani.

@Roy H no, Rondo is the best player in the deal.

J-Smoove is not a superstar at all.  That's why the Pistons are trying to trade him.  They overpaid to get him   Rondo is very good but not a star player IMO he needs players around him to make him better so  he's not a player I would think they would trade DMC for at all.  He would be a compliment to DMC not the player they would trade him for.

Who would you rather have?

A 23 year old center averaging 23 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game shooting 50% from the field and 73% from the line

or

A 28 year old PG coming off a serious knee injury who averages 12 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds a game while shooting 40% from the field and 63% from the line.

IMO it's not close

Are you kidding me?

Demarcus Cousins is so much better than Rondo right now is not even funny.   He's arguably the best center in the league right now..and he's very young too.  Demarcus Cousins has "franchise player" written all over him

The Kings would be crazy to do that deal.

There are a lot of potential Celtics trades on this blog for semi- untradeable players who teams are building around and have no reason to trade them... Cousins, Monroe, etc.  Unless the team has a reason to unload the player, as is the case with Love, the teams aren't trading them.

The idea for both the Celtics and the Kings would be to put Cousins next to Rondo. Swapping one for the other is incredibly pointless for both teams.

I think a deal that involves the following make some sense:

BOS gets: Monroe @10mil per year, McLemore, D. Williams, Thompson, (filler at half Wallace's $$$ for same # of years)
BOS trades: Rondo, G. Wallace, J. Green

SAC gets: J. Smith, Rondo, G. Wallace
SAC trades: I. Thomas, McLemore, D. Williams, Thompson

DET gets: J. Green, I. Thomas @ 8mil per year
DET trades: J. Smith, Greg Monroe
Mike

(My name is not Mike)

I think if we trade Rondo... which I'm bumping up to 49.5% chance of happening due to the Thomas rumors... There's going to be a lot of Celtic fans startled by the ho-hum package we receive in return.  Thomas + McLemore seems more in line with what we can expect to get back.
