If we take Smart, bradley is likely gone right? Unless he would take 6 mil or low per year

There's a lot of minutes to go to the guard rotation.  I think Rondo-Bradley-Smart could coexist quite well.

He's obviously competitive and can play defense.  But he's not a pg and he'd be a shooting guard that can't really shoot. He's not overly athletic.    He's a nice piece,  but I don't see the ceiling being very high.

You will, about two weeks into the season.

What's wrong with Randle and Smart?

We have a PG who can't shoot, might as well have a SG who can't shoot. There is a difference between shooting and scoring though, and Smart can score.

I like Randle's game, and Smart seems pretty good too; I don't dislike them; I was just riffing on the fact that Danny's been stockpiling undersized bigs and guards who aren't lights-out shooters.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
i'd be happy with Smart at number 6. I'd much prefer him over Gordon. We need scoring and offensive tenacity. OFFENSE people, that's what we need.

Also, Smart's shooting stroke is pretty nice. Not much you have to do with him mechanically, will probably be a decent shooter. His strength is getting into the paint and to the line ala D Wade. I predict he'll be a better shooter than Wade because he doesn't have the sideways hitch that Wade could never shake.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

They could utilize Smart as a sixth man behind Rondo and Bradley.

Absolutely. Smart is a unique and passionate player that could create matchup nightmares and provide great defense off the bench while he develops.

A guy like Smart is valuable to any team- not just one build around his skill set.

Some great news if we keep 6, I think Smarts going to be the best player in the 5-8 range

Smart is going to score by penetrating, posting, and getting to the line.  He would be a huge help to a Celtics team that needs, defense, an extra ball handler, someone willing to penetrate, and consistent effort from its guards.

Marcus Smart will be an NBA All-Star, I would be thrilled if the C's get him.  He will take smaller PG's to the post and he will live at the foul line and he will play elite defense.  He is a flopper though...people need to prepare for that but C's fans would fall in love with him fast if he is the pick.

Please god pick Smart over Randle. I get Ainge really wants to start a trend and compose a roster entirely of Powerforwards but it would be nice to draft other positions for once.

Made my day  ;D

Imagine a line-up of:

PG: KO
SG: Randle
SF: Sully
PF: Bass
C: Humphries

How many games can this line-up win?
