I don't see such a thing being reported anywhere else.
If it was a solid report then Ford would have broken it himself and not in a podcast.

He doesn't have sources on this likely as both sides are actively leaking the opposite, instead its what he thinks has happened. He views this all as posturing while they fight over the ancillary pieces.

Yeah, I typed up a similar post but it got ate.

There's no real news in the podcast, Ford's just informally saying he thinks the deal is inevitable since all the key pieces are on the table and they're just arguing over the rest.

Since no major draft picks appear to be in play this could easily stretch on past the draft, but Minny's leverage will drop off once the draft is over so they may want to finalize it by then.  Either way the GS package seems like the one they actually want, so if GS has agreed to the core of the deal it probably is a matter of time barring a huge falling out.

except that Woj says that GSW dont want to give up lee

Do you mean Klay?  I haven't heard anything about not wanting to give up Lee, especially since his contract isn't great and he plays the same position as Love.

Simmons mentions that GS's management appears to be disagreeing about including Klay, but that the owner is on the "trade him" side, which is why he and Ford think it'll happen sooner or later.

Yes. Excellent news

Wait a minute a few weeks ago you called ford an idiot for saying that Boston has the best offer and that they were In the lead now all of a sudden he's reliable?

I just listened to this, and its taken a bit out of context.  Basically Ford wasn't reporting anything.  He was just saying what everyone else knows, that the framework of a deal is essentially agreed upon as Thompson and Lee for Love and Martin.  So, he was giving his opinion that with that agreed upon, it is just a matter of time before they work out the details and it happens.

No new information here, just Ford giving his opinion on what he thinks will happen.

If I were Minny I'd want this in the headlines, too. Scare Ainge into giving his truly best offer.

if this was a bluff - how screwed would Minny be if we didn't budge?

...when we don't budge you mean.  This ain't Danny's first rodeo, he knows how it works.  If I'm him, my offer is on the table...period.

Either way the GS package seems like the one they actually want.

Which is a great example of why some franchises remain terrible year after year after year.

I mean, Boston's deal isn't great and if Minny wanted to wait until the dust clears on the Miami 3 and Melo or even until the trade deadline, hoping for something better, that would make some sense.  But moving Thompson and Lee for Love and Martin, even if a 1st is also heading Minny's way, will easily become the 2nd worst thing in TWolf history.

A few thoughts on the love thing.

1) Not just cause I am celtics fan, but trying to look at it objectively the GSW trade as announced doesn't seem to make any sense. I live in SF and get to watch Klay and David play a lot and they are very solid players, especially Klay. However, I don't think think that that trade makes Minnesota likely to make the playoffs in the West. Pekovic and thompson are solid on D, but rubio and Lee are pretty bad defenders. It also seems like a potentially bad pairing for Klay to go from playing off the best shooter in the game, to playing off a really awful shooter. His looks won't be nearly as open and I don't think he will look like quite a star. Also it seems like they would still need a major upgrade at sf over brewer and buddinger. Aside from Dieng, who has a ton of upside, their bench looks awful. Why would Minnesota want to try and set up that package?

2) I think Love not being on a winner is a bit oversold, and the story on grantland today kind of reinforced that view. I didn't realize how few minutes Love was playing his first two years. I also don't know if people realize his team was the first year he started http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/MIN/2011.html. I kind of just want people to look at that and compare it to our tank teams :)

sorry, I mean Klay.

But also, I find it strange that we havent heard ANYTHING On the celtics front since last thursday towards the Kevin Love trade. usually that means Ainge has something up his sleeve.

my thoughts exactly, and whoops on the grammatical error :-p

but yes - if I were Ainge, my offer stands, take it or leave it

I want to build a team to win and doing so that allows me to continue to add pieces and build around Rondo and Love and not trade the entire team and assets away

I dont get why GSW is so high on Thompson, because I cant see him becoming a go-to guy for the Wolves :/
This is solely based on his inconsistency, and I think that the Wolves will end up regretting this trade ::)

They see him as a potential 20ppg guy.

There are plenty of potential 20ppg guys who really aren't that good.

I disagree Chris.  This certainly is new information because the other reports say that the principles have NOT been agreed upon.  Chad's saying that it's only the bit parts holding up the deal, while other reports are saying it's the key components of the trade that are still unclear.  That's a key difference between Chad and others.
