There isn't one, it was a bad joke. Nothing on twitter/ESPN/Herald Site/etc.

it was a joke..c'mon guys
If it was a joke, indicate its a joke in the post. Fake news headlines and stories like that aren't allowed. We get enough junk via rumor, we don't need deliberate misdirection too.

I've seen people post worse than that when joking.Obviously it was a joke, who actually believed he was sitting down with Danny and Brad?

She posted a picture to instagram saying she was happy to be back in Ohio for the summer. Had nothing to do with basketball.

too much coincidence for the Cavs fans... they're still hoping for James to return

This really isn't huge news.

The big news is that, at least initially, this doesn't appear to be coordinated with Wade or Bosh's decisions.

Mike

Great point. If Wade does not opt out, I think Lebron leaves Miami. They can't restructure that roster with Wade on the books for so much $$.  Bosh too, but to a lesser extent.

I agree here. If Wade doesn't opt out Lebron heads Cleveland, Houston or to wherever Melo ends up.

Get your celebrating out of the way.  This probably either means that The heat are going to add Melo and create a Big 4... Or bron/melo end up lakers or something.

Wade should sign a 4 year , 42.5 million dollar deal.   Those last two years wont be a big deal if the cap goes up as much as it has been speculated.  Make the first two years lower so they can sign Melo or Lowry.  Something like 9.5, 10, 11, 12 over the course of 4 years.

If you retire, you forfeit the rest of the money left on your deal.  Does Wade really want to stick around for years 3 and 4 in order to get all that cash?

And there's NO WAY Bosh is going to take a contract like that.  He can get 20 million a year the next two years, then probably sign another deal for 6 to 10 mill a year after that.  Bosh would literally be giving up 20 to 40 million dollars.

I agree it doesn't make financial sense for Wade or Bosh.  Lebron is running away.

I'm actually disappointed. I always looked forward to the Celtics beating this Heat team.

Lakers willing to package 7th pick with Nash to help create enough salary cap space to sign Melo and Bron.  Could we use the PTE?  Nash makes $9.7 so the numbers would work. That way we could get a great pick without giving up Rondo.

It's worth pointing out, I think, that if Wade, Bosh, and James had all opted in the Heat would've almost certainly failed to make it back to the Finals, since their roster flexibility would've been completely screwed.

Just like with Anthony, this move doesn't mean James is leaving Miami.

If the Lakers signed Kobe to a more reasonable $15m per year, they could have signed both Melo and Lebron, re-signed Gasol and kept the 7th pick.  The Kobe contract was so dumb.

Ok, let's look at the two most mentioned scenarios and what it would take for them to happen.

1)  He stays in Miami - After Riley's "Get a Grip" speech, why would he?  He's proven his point with two championships out of the last three years.  Things are only going to get worse from this point on.  Even if James, Bosh and Wade cut their salaries in half to make room for Anthony, they still won't have a "team" to contend with the Spurs next year (or any other West "team")  He has nothing left to prove in Miami.

2) Going back to Cleveland - To me, this makes the most sense and could have the heart warming story ending if they ended up winning the championship also.  Home is home...and the Cavs are in great position to put together a team around him that will be better than the one in Miami.  He'll want the owner to open his wallet to the max, but I believe the publicity, the fence mending, the STORY would be a great one for the NBA.

Are these his only two choices?  Obviously not, as Houston is mentioned often.  But, to me, these are the two most likely scenarios.  If he leaves Miami, it will be interesting to see what Bosh and Wade then decide to do.

June is turning out to be such a fun month!

:D
