If Utah is willing to give you Favors Burks and the 5 for the number 1. Why not offer Sully 6 and 17 and maybe a future Clippers pick for a shot at Parker or Wiggins. This draft maybe a once in a lifetime draft. We have the assets to do it go get it.
Jazz offer is better. That's why.

Nah I think the Celtics offer can match the Jazz.

The Jazz were offering Favors, Burks, and the 5th last I saw. Thats far better than we can offer.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

If this is a "once in a lifetime draft" (it's not)  then why in the world would someone let the top picks go in the first place?
Because they think embiid will be there for them at 5

It'll be foolish for them to trade down and take on a injury prone big man. Get Parker/Wiggins.
Maybe.  Or maybe in 6 months they get a dominant center and look genius for the next 15 years.

Also, could be they reroute their assets to trade for Love

Dumb risk, the Cavs screwed up with the first pick last year, this year it's their chance at redemption, play it safe.

The Celtics can offer the 6th and 17th picks and other future picks plus Sullinger or Olynyk. I think it can match the Jazz offer.

Celtics can outbid anyone with quantity... not necessarily quality, though.

#5  > #6.   Favors > Sully + Oly.   Burks > #17.

Also, If Embiid is there at #5... fair to say #5 is vastly superior to #6... since that's who the Cavs want.

I'll say this.. if it's true that Orlando is insane enough to take Gordon #4, they'd be wise to talk to Boston, because I'm pretty sure Boston would gladly trade them #6 and #17 to move up to #4 and take Embiid... and then with Embiid secured, they would likely have the assets to make a deal with the Cavs for #1... if that's really what they wanted to do.

But even then, it's going to be really hard to beat Favors.   That kid is legit.

I like Favors, but he hasn't made the leap I thought he was going to take this year. Anyway I still feel that the quality of the offer would be just as good as the Jazz, even though I agree the Celtics should trade with the Magic. If they wanted to trade up of course.

If no Love or Melo, then grab Embiid at 6 and trade up for Parker or Wiggins

You really think you could move up to the first pick?  The answer is no way. Cleveland already has a PG so your best asset (Rondo) doesn't help them.  We just don't have the pieces.  It would take a ton.  Plus without giving up the 6th pick and much more you couldn't even get them to listen.... BTW how can you say trade for the first pick and also keep the #6 pick for Embiid?  What do you think you would be able to give up?
