Was just tweeted about a half hour ago:

If TWolves trade Love, Celts are heavy favs to get him now. GS won't discuss Klay T. + Bulls are focused on Melo. Boston trumps anyone else.

Thoughts?

This is new information....

Someone very plugged in who says the Celtics are the "heavy" favorites...Also tells us GS & CHI is out...No need to be condescending. Trying to get the latest out there.

Hard to take seriously without a named source. Sorry but 'Very Plugged In' doesn't cut it for most.

Its already been posted in the Chad Ford thread.

Also, I'm not sure I would categorize Simmons as any more plugged in than any of his coworkers. He's never broken anything on the level that, say, Stephen A. has.

While I appreciate this, there's no need to scatter it in a million separate threads.

The source is Bill Simmons which is mentioned in the thread title....

Well, I think the fact that we have one thread with so much information in it and so many different thoughts, sometimes we risk losing a new report and/or new information...It's tough for me to go back everyday and look back at the last 10 pages of certain threads to see what the latest is. I actually think it's much easier for consumption if there is a thread created when something new from someone different comes out. I guess I'm in the minority.

  Do they ever name sources?

I don't know whether Simmons is plugged in or not, he could just be repeating he's heard from others at espn. Hope he's right though.

I think it says a lot that the biggest story he ever broke was by accident (which is why I don't count it).

Thanx, but I take it as speculation in any case on his part. I also take it to mean he is not the original source or he is in creative mode due to something he thinks he heard because he doesn't name sources either. I do appreciate your attempt to post current news, just very skeptical about Simmons and his ilk when these random vague sounding comments show up.

I hope this is true just the same. We are all craving some hard core facts that will clarify when and if Kevin Love becomes a Celtic and what it has cost.

Simmons is definitely pretty plugged in, not just with players but certain executives (Morey is his buddy). He also knows everybody at ESPN, obviously, and he along with Zach Lowe and Jalen Rose cover the NBA extensively themselves. Oh yeah, he's one of the commentators on NBA Countdown, so yeah I would not question his connections.

Anyway, this is not necessarily new but more or less confirmation of what we've already heard: That the Celtics have the best offer and Golden State still doesn't want to include Klay Thompson. The question is if the Rockets win the Melo sweepstakes will the Bulls shift their focus to Love?

I wish someone more resourceful than me would put together all the FA deadlines and try to figure out exactly when this all has to go down. Is everybody waiting for LeBron and the Heat? Will that be decided before or after draft day?

I think Simmons is a lot more plugged in than people realize, much in the way that Jalen and a lot of former players are.

They know 'big secrets', the stuff that nobody overtly talks about but everyone knows is true. That Dwight would leave LA, that LeBron was leaving Cleveland, that Phil Jackson was gonna go to NY, stuff like that.

I totally agree with you starting a new thread with this new information Nacceltic!!  Thanks so getting this "new" information out there rather than adding it to a long ongoing thread.  Nicely done!!
