LeBron to finish his career above 40,000 points, 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists.

My goodness. You think he'll break the scoring record?

Yep and be the first player ever to have 10,000+ career rebounds and 10,000+ career assists.

Bron can play for many years yet.

But not at the previous level since he came into the NBA.

I think he might still be superhuman another two years ....maybe , but can he play for game after game at the crazy energy level like he did in past years.

It's getting near the time when he is going to need another full blown superstar to pull off titles.

Wade is crippled and toast , he and Bosh,  aren't enough fire power .....Bosh is good , but way overrated .

I look for Lakers to try and put LeBron and Melo together or Riley to do it down in Miami .

I think he needs more help than the current other big two can give him.

If he is ever officiated by the same rules as his peers he'll be a lot harder-pressed to achieve those numbers.

I think LeBron will age very well because he can slide over to power forward and play there full time. Even with the loss of his explosive quickness, LeBron's skill-level (relative to a PF) will still make him a very potent player. The ball-handling, the secondary playmaking, the spot up shooting. He should still have a quickness advantage at PF for 5+ years to come to set up his dribble drive game. He has the post game to take advantage of smaller players if teams go small to matchup with him. He'll be a really big problem for years to come.

Remember when Magic Johnson came back to play in 1996 when he was 38 years old. He hadn't played in four and half years. Was badly conditioned. Overweight. Still, even at that age and with questionable conditioning, Magic Johnson was still a very good player. I think he had something like 15ppg, 7rpg and 6-7apg in low 30mpg (without training camp, joined mid-season for playoff push). You could visibly see how uncomfortable vast majority of PFs were trying to cover him out on the perimeter and the second a team switched a smaller defender onto him, Magic went down into the post and killed them there instead. Only a few teams had players with enough defensive range to cover Magic. So I think LeBron is going to be able to do something quite similar to that when his quickness goes as a player 36-39 year old player.

This is what I think is going to happen too.  LeBron as we know him now probably has 4-5 years left but I think we're going to see him become more and more of a power forward after that while maintaining a high level of play.  He's stronger than a lot of power forwards already and once his quickness starts to go I could see him bulking up more and playing down low more.

Big deal, he still wasn't as good as Larry Bird.

I could see him reinventing his game as parts of his athleticism/explosiveness leaves... He's still an elite player in several under-utilized ways.

I think he has the most points any player's ever had at his age right now.  Entering the league at 18 + no major injuries = a very strong shot at it.

I'm pretty positive he holds all the 'youngest player ever to' records when it comes to the various all-time point increments he's hit.

Do you really see him possessing the mental toughness to re-invent himself?   I am not so sure.  I think he would pull a Barry Sanders first and retire before he goes too far south.

Your guess is as good as mine, but the aspect of this I find most interesting is that LeBron, though highly skilled, also relies a lot on athleticism, and I'm curious to see what will happen with him once age begins to rob him of that athleticism: How quickly will he decline? What adjustments will he make to his game? Will he make any adjustments?
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

This... i think we have already seen the beginning of the demise in his all around game.  He averaged a rebound less a game this season (and one less assist) and rebounding is one of the areas that he really relies on his athleticism. Interesting thing to point out, last season in the finals he had 2 triple doubles and 5 double doubles. This year he only has one double double and seems to becoming more of a scorer/really strong defender. I realize it hurts his team isn't shooting as well, but he definitely hasn't played as well either.

He gets a decent amount of his mid-range and further jumpers because of his explosiveness to the hole. As that decline, he will have less space to shoot jumpers and doesn't have the length of someone like Garnett to shoot over players as his lift deteriorates. Automatically assuming he will develop into an effective low post player in the form of malone seems to give him a lot of credit for development.

Absolutely.  Don't buy into the nonsensical hate spewed by the the blatantly jealous crabbypants crowd... Bron clearly has mental toughness. He's an all around elite player. I could see him using his size to become a post player... He's got elite size and stength... Essentially Karl Malones body. Or perhaps he will play a Scottie pippen trailblazers point forward role... He's and elite passer.  He can evolve in a multitude of ways as he ages.  If he stays healthy, he will be an effective impact player well into his late 30s.

He was supposed to be the second coming of magic johnson due to his elite passing ability, but his unreal stength/athleticism/scoring prowess evolved him into a 30 pt scorer.  Don't be shocked if 41 year old Lebron is averaging 15 points and 11 assists

He is at his peak and will likely maintain this level for another 3 years but have to start conserving minutes. I agree with the thoughts that he was overused this season. He needs to be rested a bit more to preserve his health and horsepower for when it counts. I'd say he'll play til about 38 and still be averaging 16, 6, 6 a game at that time. Versatility will continue to keep him relevant after he's done dominating.
