Not shocking, but just saw this:

@chadfordinsider  5m
Exum has only scheduled MIL, PHI & ORL. Unlikely to workout below 4 I?m told

Thoughts?

I think it's a strategy by his agent to push him into the top 4. I still think he drops.

This might go with the 76ers being interested a couple weeks ago. I still say if Love is too expensive, see what Orlando wants. They seem to be caught up on Smart, and if Utah isn't interested in Smart that means one of Wiggins or Parker is going to be available.

Move our 6th, player and maybe even the Clip pick from next year.

Eww, I am getting increasingly turned off by the way Dante Exum has been marketed and how seemingly everyone has fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

I guess I'll have to re-adjust quickly if we end up taking the next Penny Hardaway/Russell Westbrook/Michael Jordan/Kobe Bryant with the sixth pick.

Maybe he won't come over right away if he is insultingly picked outside the top four.  He could just stay at the Australian Institute of Sports for another year.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Bottom line: Wiggins, Parker, Embiid and Exum will all be gone by #6.

We'll have 3 remaining out of Smart, Vonleh, Randle and Gordon to pick from.

My money is on Vonleh at #5, and we're picking from Smart / Gordon / Randle.

I agree.  He foreclosed working out with anyone after 4 a while ago.

The team who really interests me is Orlando...If they love Smart as much as some believe they do, then Exum could drop to #6.  Utah has been linked to Aaron Gordon over the last week or two...

Just throwing this out there, but, a number of reporters over the past couple of weeks have been saying the C's are really intrigued by or in love with two guys - Smart & Gordon. Is Ainge & company leaking those two names out there hoping that the Magic goes Smart @ #4 and Utah goes with Gordon @ #5, leaving Exum all to Danny and the C's?

Yeah, strategies like this can backfire.  I remember that Gerald Green only worked out for teams at the top of the draft, and once he made it past those teams, he fell like a brick.  (As an aside, Gerald's agent didn't do him any favors in that draft, refusing to work out against other players, getting into open arguments in the media with GMs, etc.)

If Orlando really wants Smart, their GM would be wise to offer up the 4th pick to a team looking to get Exum and slide a little to where they can still get Smart.  Pick up an extra asset while still getting the player they really want.

For example, they could trade with either the C's or Lakers since Smart will probably still be there at either 6 or 7.  Maybe get an extra future pick from the C's or the Lakers in addition to their first this year.  At this point, I'm wondering how much better Exum really would be over Smart-->enough to cough up a future first to move up 2 spots?  I'm not so sure anymore.  Unless, Exum becomes the prime piece in a Love trade and as a result, cuts the amount of other assets we'd have to include in the deal.

Worked out for those teams who were scared off, not so much for the C's.

The downside of a GM who doesn't really give a crap about stuff like that in Ainge.
