Wow this is kind of eye opening. Olynyk recieved the highest amount of votes on the second team and the people who vote are sportswriters all throughout the US and Canada. Did the Celtics really have the 6th best rookie of the class?

Could we be underrating Olynyk? I think this could be the first time Celticsblog has ever underrated one of their own players.

Celticsblog underrates and overrates every player on the team every year.

It should be mentioned that Phil Pressey received more All-Rookie votes than Bennet (#1), Len (#5), McCollum #10), and Muhammad (#14). That?s Danny Ainge for you.

I think this could be the first time Celticsblog has ever underrated one of their own players.

People wanted to trade Rondo for Vasquez this past summer.

Anyone can get tons of assists when they play with superstars like PP/KG/Ray (or Bradley/Green/Humphries...).

Congratulations to Kelly.  Well deserved.  To be honest, I thought he deserved to be on the first team.

I also think that it's way too early to call this class a bust.  There will end up being some good players to come out of it.  Klynyk will be one of them.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I like Plumlee and all, but I think he gets too much credit for being on a winning team.  I'd take Olynyk over him, and Steven Adams played quality minutes for a much better team in OKC.

Thing is, of the guys named to the All-Rookie teams, I don't think a single one is going to be what you could call a star.  Some quality starters, and maybe somebody will be in an All-Star game at some point.  But no future fixtures of the league or anything like that.

I'd agree with this.

I predict multiple AS games for KO.

I saw something special when KO played with the summer league team, and it translated very well during the 2nd half of the season

Yes. He has 20 ppg potential in the near future, and most people yawn at him.

1st team:  2nd, 9th, 11th, 22nd, and 24th picks.

2nd team: 4th, 12th, 13th, 15th, and 21st picks.

I don't think that draft is worth trying to make any kind of sense out of.  We won't see anything again like that for a long time

Yeah whatever, Doctor Professor.

There are steals in every single draft. If you find yourself annually saying, "this draft is X many players deep, and I'll smash my TV if we draft somebody ESPN doesn't hype", do me a favor and slap yourself with a large raw steak.

The reaction to Olynyk getting drafted last year was pathetic, as is the "Trade Everything For Love!" frenzy.

Ask yourselves why you didn't think last year's draft was chock-full of quality players. What was it about Adams, Olynyk, Plumlee, Giannis, and Dieng that made you yawn?

I'll admit I thought Dieng would struggle a bit with strength and wasn't worth the 15th pick, but I was excited by the number of high quality prospects projected to be available at 15.

I feel the same about our number 17 pick this year, and you should too. Just do more draft research with an open mind instead of writing all these prospects off.
