All the K Love talk has me thinking about what a complete offseason would look like and how we could bring in enough talent to convince Love to stay on long term.
To Minn: J. Sullinger, B. Bass, C. Johnson, C. Babb, P. Pressey, V. Faverani, J. Anthony, K. Bogans, 3 1st rd sel (including this years lottery pick)
To Bos: K. Love, K. Martin
To Hou: Future 1st rd pick
To Bos: O. Asik (using TPE)
Sign P. Pierce using the MLE
Re-sign A. Bradley, J. Bayless, K. Humphries
Sign G. Stiemsma Vet minimum
17th overall draft PJ Hairston
That would leave us with this roster:
PF: K. Love/K. Olynyk/K. Humphries
SF: J. Green/P. Pierce/G. Wallace
C: O. Asik/G. Stiemsma/C. Iverson
SG: K. Martin/A. Bradley/PJ Hairston
PG: R. Rondo/J. Bayless
With love and Martin in the starting 5, the center position needs to be a defensive rim protection position by far. Asik, Stiemsma and Iverson all fit the mold.
After Love and Rondo are extended to max deals, it wont leave much in terms of future cap space, so re signing players like Bradley, Bayless and Humph to fill out the roster using their Bird Rights is the best plan by far. PJ Hairston seems to be the most NBA ready of all the SG's that will be available later in the 1st.
Thoughts?
