I think the Timberwolves organization would be concerned about this perception.

I don't think they'll be willing to be jobbed by Ainge again, and will be weary, but I don't think they're going to hold a grudge because of the Garnett trade. If they think the Celtics offer the best deal, they'd take it. The added bonus is that they won't have to face Kevin Love 4 times a year in a different uniform.

If that is the case then the entire league is the farm team for the Lakers.

The Celtics gave up ...  a draft pick that should have been Steph Curry (they took Flynn one pick ahead of Curry)

To clarify, we didn't send Minnesota that pick.  We traded Minnesota back their own heavily-protected #1 pick.  Those protections would have kept the pick from being conveyed to Boston, and we would have ended up with a 2012 #2 (which turned into Will Barton).  That's what Minnesota ended up with from us.

  I think they'll go with the best deal they can get in return.

 I think if we gave them our lottery pick,sully and Wallace( or a vetran that is expendable. they would take it.

KG was entering his 13th year. The Celtics gave up one of the best young bigs in the league in Al Jefferson, a draft pick that should have been Steph Curry (they took Flynn one pick ahead of Curry), another first rounder, as well as Green, Telfair, and Gomes - all of who were still considered to have quite a bit of upside.

Ainge traded Jefferson, the pick and a bag of trash for Garnett. Jefferson's not bringing anyone a title, y'all hate Green because he had the temerity to be traded for Perkins and I'm not going to dignify the last three players with any comment.

It was a heist of epic proportions.

I guess we can agree to disagree - just because things worked out for us and not for Minnesota doesn't mean it was a bad deal for them at the time. Not 'dignifying' the last three players is being really short sighted. Telfair and [especially] Green had real potential and Big Al was on a Cousins / Drummond level. I understand how the pick worked based on what Roy explained, but my point was if they actually selected somebody useful and they kept Big Al, it wouldn't seem like such a 'heist' for us. Seriously, KG was going into his 13th season - he was no longer in his prime. It is a good thing we won a championship that first year.

As for the Green deal, I consider that a total steal for us.

We gave them, by far, the best package for KG. There was a hell of a lot of talent in that deal - lots of us, myself included, thought we gave up way too much at the time. We didn't rip them off in that deal. We won, big time, but its not as if we gave them garbage for KG...unlike, say, the Lakers getting Pau Gasol. Yes, Marc Gasol turned into a very good player years later, but I highly doubt many (if any) people thought he'd be more than a league-average player, and the rest of the package was pure garbage. That was a swindle at the time, not the KG deal.
