Not resigning AB and playing Green at the SG spot

Imo i think its a worthwhile experiment to try. Green can cover most SG's on the defensive end and could be a potential nightmare matchup on the other end 

He has been called soft, inconsistent and a poor rebounder. Maybe the deal is, he is not a natural 3 and more productive as a two

If we get a shotblocking center, I think Green can be the SG on a Championship team, He will be a matchup nightmare for opposing Two guards, it will just be tough for him to stay in front of two's thats why wed need a shot blocking two.

Jeff Green simply does not have the ball handling skills to be a 2 guard.  After the point guard, the 2 guard should be your best ball handler.  He has inadequate ball handling skills even for a small forward, which is why he has such a difficult time creating space to get a high percentage shot. His offense consists almost exclusively of 3 pointers, foul shots, and transition baskets.  I would bet the vast majority of his points come from those 3 categories.

How good do you have to be?? Joe Johnson, Derozan are sgs that don't have greatest handles. Harden is mainly able to drive straight.

Not alot of guys can handle the ball like Dwade

You make a good point, but I think we could easily get by if our next SF had solid ballhanding skills (Parker, anyone?). I am already quite comfortable with KO (and to some extent, Sully) at the PF so that is a bonus. I also think Green may surprise some people if he is exclusively a guard. His passing ability, while unimpressive in the NBA, was one of his prime skills coming out of college.

I get that as careers progress, players usually move from SG to SF - not the other way around, but Green still has killer athleticism so it's worth a shot. If we are looking to be at least a 2nd round playoff team next year, I am in no rush to get rid of Green, unless [of course] he is part of a package that brings in a superstar

+1.  The Green experiment at the PF/SF spot at OKC failed.  The Green experiment at the SF spot with the Celts the last few years now has not been a success. He says he needs help, fans say give him a proper rim protector and he will do better. I'm not sure about that. Green is just not physical enough, lacks post skills and espcially lacks the rebounding skills to be a decent sf in the nba.

He could have a serious adv in size as a SG though.

I think you need to at least have the potential for your 2 to run the pick and roll or create off the dribble.  That's not really Jeff's game at all.  Avery at least has started to develop a dribble pull up out of the pick and roll, though he still can't pass.

Completely on board with Green at the two slot. Match up nightmare, he's quick enough to handle it, and Rondo will have the ball in his hands most of the time anyway. Love the idea, in the short spurts we saw Green at the two (especially when Pierce was around) it seemed like it worked.

In theory it's nice.

I thought Doc's stubbornness was the reason JG wasn't played at the 2 more often.

But after this season I'm thinking JG's lack of aggression may be why.

doesn't matter to me either way. I will trust DA's decision. I'm good either way as long as it makes us a better team next year. Changes definitely need to be made this offseason though!!!!!!!!!
