  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Biggest centerpiece of the franchise at one point, brought in 18 esteemed titles, and was treated badly by Boston. At some point, the last place Russell would ever go to coach would be the Celtics, and now that we have honored him for his accolades and accomplishments, it would only be fitting for a legend like Bill.

The right thing to do is either usher Russell to represent us, and because this is Bill Russell. This guy doesn't know the definition of losing.

That might push the tides of Lady luck into our favors.

He may not be healthy enough.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I heard he was going through some health/respiratory issues, but regardless, if he is healthy enough, I would love for him to go.

Is the Lottery still held in New Jersey?

Asking the great Bill Russell to fly across the country for 22 minutes worth of (bad) television seems a bit much to ask, IMO. He's already done so much for the franchise and the league.

How awkward would it be to have Larry Bird do it?
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Yeah, I think that's be a bit much to ask.

But what about Tommy?

But what about Tommy?

I would love Tommy or Mike Gorman.

They both have been with the Celtics for a long time, and I love to hear both, except for when Tommy exaggerates on his homerism.

Think it should be Bill Russell

I believe he'd be honored and excited both.

i'd love for Russell to represent us but if his health is an issue then no. and while I wouldn't mind Wyc, Ainge, or even Gorman I still say it should be Tommy. our luck indirectly turned around when he sat in the chair the last time.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing! Why not? Let's get Larry to do it, it would be awesome!
