Scoring on UNC is impressive?

Huh.
Have you seen Warren play or was this the first time?

Regardless, what other team or elite player would you like me to throw out that has been unable to contain TJ Warren for the past three years?

Warren is a professional scorer, he will be a guy that gets 20 a night in the NBA.  He can knock down 3's and has a nice mid-range game as well.  Really like the floaters in the lane too.  Some guys just have a knack to get buckets and Warren has it...
He makes 30% of his 3s from the college line. That's not a good sign for his three point range.

As for a 20 PPG scorer in the NBA, I doubt it. There are a total of 21 player scoring 20 PPG (rounding up on John Wall/Arron Afflalo)

Can't believe I am defending a guy that plays for the Wolfpack - but his two years in college he has shot over 50% from the field both years and 34.4% from the arc, which is the same number that Paul Pierce shot his junior year at Kansas.  His offensive skill set is impressive and yes, I believe in his peak year he will average 20 a game.

I am not comparing him to Paul Pierce just saying in college their numbers are comparable...

Can you really find 13 players you'd rather pick?  Not me. I've had him solidly in the top 10 from day 1.  I thought maybe you could trade down and take him, but that chance is dying with every game

he's an easy 15-20 scorer in the nba.  Just happens to be a need for us too.

Why did warren choose to go to NC state?

Warren is a good scorer but what stands out the most about his game is his work ethic on both ends.

The one part of his game id like to see him improve on is getting his teammates more involved. Maybe he can pass but has been let down too many times and has to try to do it himself

I don't see his game translating to a top NBA level scorer, anymore than I see McDermott's. He's not a shooter and he doesn't have the elite athleticism to play the same sort of game he does at NC State in the pros.

I've mostly focused on the top 8 guys I haven't been looking deeper than that, I came up with the 7 I'd pick ahead of him for sure off the top of my head. Plus Exum I guess but I don't have any clue about him since its just highlight videos but the reputation is elite *shrug*. After that the whole draft is mostly a bunch of names to me.

Wiggins
Embid
Randle
Parker
Smart
Vonleh
Gordon

You are nitpicking. Why dont you talk about his 23 ppg and 52 fg per avg for a sf (only sophomore)

What other sf outside of mcdermott has these stats?

I like vonleh but honestly he hasnt proven much yet. His stats are mediocre and he hasnt helped his team get anywhere.  At least gordon has helped his team be at the top.

Its all about upside/potential vs the real thing, which is what mr warren has shown

If warren was going off against bad teams only then i would be wary about his chances to be drafted in the lotto . But he has been doing what he has against everyone. Thats syracuse , clemson etc

Just went through his logs real quick - NC State has played against 6 ranked teams this year and Warren is averaging 25ppg - 7rpg - shooting 49% - The guy can score and I would take him over Smart and Gordon...

His stats are really good. But is it just me, or does he look a bit slow footed? Of course, so was Pierce, and it did not affect his career in the NBA.

Warren's dad played at NC State. TJ Warren four final schools where Florida, North Carolina, Georgetown and NC State. NC State had a top 7 recruiting class that year including Rodney Purvis.

He is not slow. He is "smooth".

Has the package and accomplishment under his belt to be a good nba player.

One guy that would be happy to have warren would be rondo. Just feed and let him go to work

Can warren potentially play sg?

He looks somewhat slow for a SF, so I doubt it. Especially with shaky range on his jumper, he needs to be closer to the rim to play his game.

His three has been better as of late. His ability to run around screens to get free and float shots in is elite. Its what sg do

He would have size adv over sg. He is an underrated defender and can defend multiple positions. But yeah sf is prob his best bet

His stock just sky rocketed!!  Despite getting double teamed and consistently fouled with virtually NO calls by McAdoo, he still drops 36 on UNC.

Man, some of the foul calls against him were utter bull crap.

UNC will not go far in the NCAA tourney with their FT shooting!!!

BTW, I told everyone that Syracuse was a paper tiger and I am sure that no one believed me.  Just saying:-)))

Smitty77

P.S. Sorry for the ramble.  I am peeved that my Wolfpack just got jobbed by the refs AT stinking HOME.  Boy, those refs must have been from around the corner in Chapel Hill!!!!!  I think they had UNC jerseys on underneath the strips.  How in the world does the leading scorer in the ACC who also leads the ACC in FG% NOT get the calls vs. McAdoo, the most overrated BUST in the country????????????????????????????????????????

TJ Warren is a stud and he should be lottery bound!  UNC will be just fine come tourney time, they have one of the best resumes in the country and haven beaten some of the best teams college basketball has to offer ( Duke, Kentucky, UL, MSU).

McAdoo overrated?  I think you may be the only person in the country that had him rated?

I am sure the Wolfpack will do just fine in the NIT:)  Just be happy that Hairston got kicked off the team because if he was on this team, it would be a wrap and Roy's boys would be cutting down the nets again for the 3rd time in a decade...

I think that UNC should be glad that they did NOT get the death penalty in BOTH basketball and football for players taking courses that were NOT even courses!!!  That is a FACT!!!  And if you think that I am the ONLY one that had McAdoo rated highly, you are gravely mistaken.  Go back and look at where he was rated coming out of high school and get back to me with an apology please.

I don't see him in the lottery.

I haven't been impressed with UNC's defense, but I just checked their efficiency and its far better than I thought. Brice Johnson cleaning up all the sloppiness outside helps a lot more than I thought I guess.

Mark my words.  I told everyone Syracuse was a paper tiger.  I will now predict that UNC will not get into the Elite 8.  Their lack of FT shooting will DOOM them!!!

Smitty77

Roy never really has good defensive teams but this year is different because they stink on offense, so they dedicated themselves on the other end of the floor.  They have won 11 straight and have some of the best wins in the country.  They went from a bubble team to a team that has a legit shot to make the elite 8 / final four.  Marcus Paige is one of the most improved players in the country and UNC will be preseason number 1 next season.  They are losing Mcdonald and replacing him with 3 top 15 recruits and scoring won't be an issue next year...
