I think Jeff Green is as good if not better and he makes like 6 million less a year.

Deng doesn't even shoot 30% from three.

Sounds like nonsense. The Celts aren't going to tie up $12 million per season in Deng, who is an elite role player / finishing piece, rather than a superstar.

if you can trade Jeff Green and a pick for him ,it wouldn't really be tying up much more money for the next few years, only 3 mil more per year.

Why give up a possibly better (and younger) player and an asset for Deng though?

He doesn't even shoot 30% from three.  I like floor spacing.

he shoots 33% for his career, and 32.5% this year. He's not a great 3 pt shooter, but not terrible either. He is an almost elite defender, and would greatly benefit on offensive with playing with someone like Rondo.

I wouldn't give up a Brooklyn pick for him though, only the clips pick , top 10 protected.

Everyone benefits playing with Rondo.

Jeff is just a better 3 pt shooter.  And he is a good defender too.  Also younger.  The deal makes zero sense for me.  Keep the pick and take a young player in the draft or have another pick to use in a worthwhile trade.

I'm glad we have acquired all these picks lets not start giving them away.

Don't know what Cleveland has planned for next year, but if we could make separate trades and send them Trade exception, Green, and a first for Varejao and Deng I would do it. Resign Bradley and we would have a good starting lineup that can play offense and defend.

Varejao
Sully
Deng
Bradley
Rondo

Looks pretty good to me and we still have a ton of assets.

I don't buy this, not one bit.

It makes no sense to go after a guy like Deng at this point in time.  I highly doubt Danny is truly interested, unless this is part of a larger plan.

I'd like to see us move on from Jeff Green, too, because like Deng, he's a role player.  Unlike Deng, he doesn't fall into the elite category.

Deng is significantly better than Green in terms of defense, rebounding, and passing.  He also seems to have a significantly higher basketball IQ / motor.  In terms of shooting, they have almost identical TS% and eFG% this season, and that's despite Deng being traded and having to adjust to Mike Brown's "system".

Deng would be an excellent addition to a contender.  Unfortunately, the Celtics aren't particularly close to that level, so it doesn't make sense to break the bank for him.

If we get Deng, you can kiss Green goodbye.  Deng is a better all around player imo and is more consistent.

TP...I could EASILY get behind that lineup.

I would even expand it to include swapping Bradley for Waiters. Something like Green, Bradley, Bass, Faverani, etc for Deng, Varajeo and Waiters.

In addition, we keep our picks and Sully.

Then, find a way to get rid of Wallace's deal and go all in for either Love or Gasol in 2015 ;D

- We’re surprised the Cavs did not moveLuolDeng. He’llbegone on July 1, no later than a minute past midnight, and despiteanAchilles injury that prevents him from practicing on most days, he’ll be high on everyone’s free-agent list. The Mavs, Lakers, Celtics, Magic and Charlotte are all interested. Why not stay in Cleveland? Kyrie Irvingdoesn’t make players around him better and Dion Waiters is a me-first player.

It's from the new york daily news so who knows, but I don't see why Danny wouldn't have interest. He has been through all the playoff battles, is good on both sides of the ball, and isn't nearly as inconsistent as Jeff Green. Still only 28, so he should hold up until his next contract is over . If we can add Love or Marc Gasol in the next few years, you have the core of a contending teams, just need to add some shooting/scoring .

There is no way he gets the max, maybe 12-13 mil a year.
Supposedly Cavs were peddling him and teams backed off of Deng because of his Achilles injury.  He's not near 100% and some players never recover to 100%. This applies to Kobe too.

Why is everyone saying Deng is older... a little over a year isn't much at all. I'd take Deng all day every day over Green, twice a day. I know he costs more but I think if we swap him for Green you do it. No way we give up a pick b.c I doubt he is staying in Cleveland, they will be lucky to get anything for him, Green is not a bad prize considering.

The only way I don't want him is we have to pick him up as a FA unless we can clear the money with Green.

With Deng, if we get a defensive center (Asik), Kelly and Sully work on themselves and continue to improve... we are contenders. That's not even including who we can get in the draft.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
