Speaking of the Lakers it makes zero sense for Kobe to return this season. I would be completely shocked  if they brought Kobe back at all this year.

Theyd go from a possible 3-6 pick to a 6-10 pick.

Has nothing to do with what's smart though. Has everything to do with what Kobe wants, and every game he sits out diminishes his chance of catching Kareem. Plus, the guy is crazy competitive, if he can play, he'll play.

True but Kobe has to realize that playing could mean the difference between 3 or 4 spots in the lottery...It comes down to what he thinks is more important, the scoring title, or possibly winning another championship.

"Kobe don't tank" isn't anything I've ever heard Kobe say,but I am 200% sure he's said it. I really doubt this even enters the equation for him.

"You've gotta respect a 15-percent 3-point shooter. A guy
like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

key is for us to lose as many games as possible vs. teams we are "competing" against for the worst record. I agree that it is unlikely we will land a top 3 worst, but a 4th worst record would pretty much assure us of a starter pick, even if it slips to number 7 due to the ping pong balls.

Huge chance to lose tonight - Sullinger and Rondo both sitting out. :)

Sully is sitting? I'd be really surprised if we won. DMC is gonna have himself a day.

Also if we got the 4th worst record isnt our probability of a top 5 pick something like 83%? Those are good odds.

The whole season is a bust and Danny set it up that way. We need to identify who has a future on this team and who does not. I believe Rondo, Sully and Ollynk have futures on this team. Avery Bradley and Sleepy Jeff may have futures on this team. Chris Johnson may have a future too but he might be showing us all he has and could fall out of the picture as fast as he came in.

I am thinking this season ends at 25 and 57 for the Celtics - Six more wins and a 4th worst record with a good chance to draft in the top three.

I think Danny has put this team in good spot to rebuild quickly and break out Phoenix style next season.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

March looks like an excellent month to pile up some losses and comes at a good time. If we lose tonight against SAC which is a road game back to back and then against the Jazz (Who nearly beat the trailblazers last night) we will be in prime spot to get the 4th worst record.

I think it's safe to say now that there is no way we are catching PHI or MIL so the race is on for 3rd place. ORL has the lead but buying out Glen Davis does make their roster worse. Still we are only two games ahead of them and I believe they own the tiebreaker. ORL also verses PHI twice in the next 5 games so they should win both those games.

Anyways even if we dont catch ORL I think the stars are aligning for us to do no better than 5th. Which is big.

Our next ten games are as follows...

@Kings
@ Jazz
Hawks
Pacers
Warriors
Nets
Pistons
@Pacers
Knicks
Suns
@Pelicans

Thats a pretty tough stretch. Unless we pull off an upset somewhere I dont see us doing better than 3-7 tops especially with the road games against western conference teams.
Personally i think Orlando dropping Glen Davis improves the team significantly. He has played 1354 minutes so far this year, which would have been better allocated to more minutes for Vucevic, and even Kyle O'Quinn and Maurice Harkless. As long as Nicholson doesn't get huge minutes (which so far he hasn't) they will gain some wins. We do have a very tough schedule, and with Sully shooting 4.5 3PA/48 on 25.4% shooting (instead of his under the basket,hard hat lunch pail game that made him a good player), we will continue to lose.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on with Atlanta? They are about to be on a 9 game losing streak...

They lost Horford, but Antic did a really good job replacing him. Then they lost Antic, and playing Elton Brand as a starting center in 2014 is desperation in a nutshell.

Furthermore Jeff Teague, who began the season as an above average starting pg, got injured and hasn't looked like himself since he came back.

And like that, they outscore the Knicks 68-46 in the second half...

Clutch losses the last two nights. Next game @ Jazz.

Jazz arent very good but they are still competitive and could easily still win. If we lose against the Jazz I think we would flirt with becoming the 3rd worst since Orlando is versing the Sixers twice.

I think he just re-injured it.

If Sully and AB are out for Jazz...our tank rating goes up for this game .

It's about dead even match up ...if our two guys miss this game.  I think at home they won't be likely to tank thmselves and play hard for their fans.......

Go jazz  ;D

Magic are versing the Sixers tonight and we are versing the Hawks. If the better teams both win we will be only one game ahead of the Magic for the 3rd worst record in the NBA.
