I wouldnt. I think it would take us longer to rebuild to title contender status. There are plenty of number 1 picks that havent worked out well, wed also still have a pretty good shot at getting picks 2-8.

none of the 'no' voters are going to raise their hand?
Why would they given the nature of your post and the general consensus in this thread?

I mean eventually one will pop in because they're up for a fight but till then....

care to expand on the nature of my post?

as soon as it's about any specific player, there's endless obscure statistical comparisons, character nitpicks (i.e. which player "gets it"), health comparisons, whatever.

what more objective POV can there be? it's Rondo v. one great asset.

==========

Moranis, I specifically eschewed the dollars to avoid such nitpicking. But, let's say Rondo gets a raise but not the max -- split the difference. And I believe this summer he could add 3 years to his deal, making it 4 total starting with 2014-15.... though if I'm wrong happy to correct this.

I've been against every proposed Rondo trade so far but I can't see a sensible reason to reject this.  I love Rondo but when you can add a player like Embiid, Parker or Wiggins AND another lottery pick in THIS draft, you have to pull the trigger.

I'd probably do the same thing for next year's draft as well considering the big-man prospects in that draft.

I wouldn't do it regardless of the draft class though.  Last year's for example.  Rondo was worth way more than anyone drafted last year.  worth more than any 2 combined actually (4 IMHO but I'm biased).
