Quote
The Memphis Grizzlies have a 7-2 record since acquiring Courtney Lee in a trade with the Boston Celtics and 5-1 since the return of Marc Gasol.

Lee is shooting 55.6 percent from the field as a member of the Grizzlies.

“Courtney’s been a big addition for us,” said point guard Mike Conley. “He adds some scoring, he adds some defense, athleticism. He has a high basketball IQ and he’s been able to pick up things fairly quickly. I think that’s what’s helped us these last couple of weeks.

“Courtney was a huge, huge piece. People overlook him. But it’s key that he’s able to stretch the court for us. With me, him, Mike Miller out there, it gives Zach and Marc more space. Having a lot of guys that could space the court, we didn’t have that going on before. And he can definitely lock up defensively.”

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
And people thought he wasnt good enough to start at the SG spot when I drafted him in the CB Draft (rant alert!).

Ranting aside, I'm glad he's doing good. Doc misused him here and he showed what he can do under Stevens albeit he still didnt get the appropriate PT.

My question is, once Tony Allen returns, what of Lee? I think he's a better option going forward than TA to be quite honest. I mean he's not Allen defensively, but he's no slouch, and offensively he offers so much more.

Im still a big Courtney Lee fan. Above average defense, above average offense...For some reason he just doesnt get the PT he deserves to make an impact on teams...Which is strange because he seems like such a likeable guy who works hard and plays his role efficiently.

He was playing well for us before he was traded, no surprise there. My feeling was he figured out he's not a great spot up shooter and does much better when he takes a dribble and pulls up for the shot.

You bench Prince.

Yeah I would play Conley, Allen, Lee, Randolph and Gasol using Prince as their role minutes guy with Miller, Koufas, and Davis filling out the rest.

And TA defends SF's...? Makes sense. Seeming as Prince doesnt really contribute as much already.

I mean, he guards LeBron most of the time.

I think Lee was underrated, and was starting to show his stuff here.

TA's big enough that he can guard the 3 in spurts, and keeping Prince fresh on the bench as a defender/to go bigger isn't a bad idea.
