How is Turner more versatile scorer? He's a 2 point jump shooter almost exclusively and doesn't get to the line as much per FGA. He's a less efficient offensive player too.

Turner is better defensive rebounder and gets 2 more assists per 36 for an additional turnover. Not really an upgrade.

Green average 13 fga per game and hits 43% of them, while Turner averages 16.6 fga per game and makes 44%. Turner also coverts better at the free throw line netting 82% compared to Jeff's 77%. So if we're going by that, he's not less efficient.

I say he's a more versatile scorer because he's the far superior ballhandler and is pretty good at creating space particularly in the midrange. All Jeff really does is barrel into traffic or stand in the corner waiting for a kick out.

Sources have expressed to Liberty Ballers that Philadelphia is stepping back from any trade negotiations for Thaddeus Young, and attempting to push a package of Evan Turner and Spencer Hawes. The source also went on to say that a few teams have shown interest, although rather minute, and no deal is close to imminent.

Link

Coincidentally, Turner + Hawes ($13.2 mil) matches Humphries' expiring salary. If Philly doesn't want to take back salary commitments beyond this year, Boston could potentially step in and broker a deal.

This could work out in a deal where the Cs rent out there cap space for picks or a young player. Much like they took on Joel anthony next year.

Not involving the Cs I could see the following trade happening

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q9cp4ww

Hawes for Waiter

or this

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=py4eu37

Turner, Hawes, Richardson for Gordon, MKG and Biyombo

Charlotte becomes a really interesting offense

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=mx4frmz

Bonnor+de colo + 2014 1st for Hawes

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=l25qf6y

Eric Gordon for Turner and Hawes (doubt phili wants to take on the $$ but if healthy MCW and gordon are nice pairing)

Cs trade

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=prbz8tm

plus boston sends phili back their pick protection from the crawford deal

It looks to me like the 76ers are interested in using expiring contracts of players they don't plan on bringing back to trade for a big non-expiring contract plus picks/young players.  This suggests to me that Ainge has competition in the expirings for assets trade market and his likely return for any possible Humphries trade just got smaller.

If Philly thinks it is in for a long-term rebuild that isn't making the playoffs anytime soon, then they should offer Turner and Hawes to Boston for Wallace and two firsts.  Are Shumpert and a 2018 first enough of an enticement for Philly to trade Young/Hawes/Turner for Amare?  Would Chicago be willing to throw in a first to trade Boozer for Hawes and Turner?

How about this 3 team trade?

Boston - Turner, Asik
Philly - Humphries, Bradley, Philly pick
Houston - Hawes

Boston gets a better defensive player in the post with a more certain contract and gets a better offensive finisher with more size.  Philly gets a better fit in Bradley, a pick, and still keeps the flexibility.  Houston swaps out Asik for a much better offensive fit in Hawes who is pretty talented and expiring.

Seems like a trade that might work for all 3 teams.  Not sure Philly gets enough value nor if Houston would value Hawes enough for that to be the only thing they would want for Asik.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Why would we want them?

That's what I was thinking ?

They are just two more average players ......to,add to,our collection on none elite bench players

I think Turner is a horrible fit for a Brad Stevens team.  If he wanted an inefficient volume scorer who is bad at defense and below average at threes, MarShon Brooks would have gotten more minutes.  I'd rather keep Bradley.

I think you should wait this process out and get better players than both Hawes and Turner.  You have plenty of assets to upgrade later on...instead, focus on moving Bass or Green.  Continue to free up cap space.

You can get yourself to max level status for the summer if one of them go bye bye.

Bradley scores less per shot than Turner (who happens to be about on par with Green).  Of course Turner is a real scorer, a solid rebounder, and a good passer.  I mean Turner has more assists per game than Green and Bradley combined.

Id say Danny should explore turner/hawes both solid role guys and young.

I think id like this scenario(2 trades but did 1 on trade machine) http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=plxs2ma

with our 2014 pick going to utah with bradley for Hayward
and phillys pick plus  nets/hawks pick back to philly with Green and Bogans

leaves us with:

rondo/pressey
Hayward/bayless
Turner/Wallace...yup he still here ;D
Sully/KO....still could trade Bass
Hawes/hump(could still trade)/fav

but i feel like that is a solid younger group there

If we really wanted to stay in this year's draft we prly could trade bass and hump somewhere of a pick maybe

Look at their eFG% and TS%. Jeff Green takes more 3s and makes more 3s. He also gets to the line more despite having fewer touches. So he scores his points on fewer shots and generates more free throws on his touches. All of which makes him more efficient.

Turner is about as efficient as Bradley, that's not a good thing for someone who shoots that much.

Maybe we could work out a three team deal.

Humphries to the 76ers

Turner and Asik to Boston

Bass and Hawes to Houston

Or something along those lines, and we could make a push for the playoffs.

Rondo/Bayless
Bradley/Turner
Green/Wallace
Sullinger/Olynyk
Asik/Anthony

Philly would want one or two first rounders to do this.  Good trade in theory for Boston and Houston.

Yeah, i agree. I'm not sure which of our firsts it would take. We could offer philli their first round pick back to them, that way they wouldn't need to hesitate pushing for the playoffs next season. It would probably take the clippers pick though.

The key point, it was mention-worthy that a few teams showed minute interest in the package.
