I am actually enjoying this season better than the last couple of years because I hated to see our great veterans PP and KG give their best and get beat by younger players that just had more in the tank than they did.

With the youth we have now, we are always capable of winning, even when we don't, it is not because we are old and don't have enough in the tank. When we lose it is because of lack of experience or the other team just being better. I hated losing to lesser teams the last couple of years just because our decorated veterans were too old to hang in there.

So, in the final analysis, we should have started the youth movement sooner and I wonder how much the delay in the transition to youth was DA's decision or the HC's reluctance to transition.

I don't think this year is even oone to as fun as any year with Paul and kg.  When they were playing games were more entertaining,  they were an absolute pleasure to watch andthey could play wwith the best of them on any given night.

I enjoyed that playoff run 2  years ago and last year I believe was cut short due to the injury to Rondo morethan anything.

It would haave been so awesome beating on NY which we would have if we had Rondo

I'm not peeved that they traded away those guys necessarily but I can't rationally say with a straight face that this year is more fun or that I would have rather traded them earlier especially with the package that we received for them.

I loved those guys and it hurt me to see them lose to some of the young punks in the league.

Well......we may not be a great team.......but most games are close and exciting to watch ...win or lose

The Net game are just plain brutal to watch ,   Slow plodding with Hall of Famers who often play worse than our group of rookies.   Their team was  deigned to contend. ......we are a rag tag. Group ......of assets in a rebuilding year........

Shame.......we an't get a decent lottery pick because half the league is tanking in this draft.

My feelings (and believe I am the only one that feels this way) is that I don't mind Ainge moving on from KG and Pierce.

But my problem just because we dealt KG/Pierce, we didn't have to get bad.

I don't understand why Danny Ainge doesn't see that you don't have to endure years where the team sucks.

ALL he had to do was acquire a legit big, an actual point guard to lead our team while RR Is out and we would be so much better off right now, with the excitement intact.

I can't stand seeing us blow big leads to teams that we can beat like the Hawks.

I agree.  I find this team just as fun to watch as last year's squad, even though we won't win as many games.  I loved watching PP and KG play, but it was tough to stomach the fact that our time as a contender was over.  This years squad may lose more, but it's fun to watch the young'ns get a chance at leading the team.  And since we have a very capable GM (as well as ownership), I don't have to worry about the team getting stuck in a cycle of losing.

So, in the final analysis, we should have started the youth movement sooner and I wonder how much the delay in the transition to youth was DA's decision or the HC's reluctance to transition.

I can't blame the C's brass for waiting when they did to start rebuilding.  We did take the Heat to 7 games in 2012.  It would be tough to justify moving our veterans after that positive of playoff performance.  And in hindsight I can't imagine we could have gotten a better haul for Pierce and KG if we had traded them a year earlier.  Ainge straight up fleeced Billy King.

to be honest....for the past few seasons--it was our YOUNG guys who got injured...and our Old guys had to carry the team, playing Heavy minutes---it sucked the life out of them.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

My opinion is that some fans think that this year is refreshing because there is no pressure.  We win, we lose, doesn't matter.  It's all fun and games right now.

But I'm not buying it.  I would much rather be a contender, regardless of how slim.  Sure, losses were much more difficult back then but that's because we cared more.

This. The Celtics went all in on getting a top pick this year. If they don't and Rondo leaves then it's going to be another 5-6 years of refreshing youthful teams. Ill take going to the finals any day over rebuilding. I will say that the KG deal is working out great for us. He looks done as a starter. How much of that is because he doesn't have a productive 4 next to him? We will never know..unless BK wants to trade us the 2020 1st for Bass....

refreshing?!  screw that.....give me vets any day.  young, inconsistent, players (many of whom who's ceiling is a role player) equate to blown leads, inconsistent play, and losses.

with that being said, i do have to give credit to this team's effort. regardless of talent, they try their best to compete.

The other bright spot for this team, imo, is the coach.  he has presently surprised me and i think he may be legit.
