How good would a Jared Sullinger/Greg Monroe duo be

I dont know how likely We are to acquire Greg Monroe whether it be via trade or free agency. However ever since i read that Greg Monroe is a candidate to be traded, I've been thinking about The duo of Monroe and Sullinger. I think it is a really good offensive duo and they would be good on the boards. However, the only weakness, would probably be rim protection and we probably could not Play up-tempo

Poor defense with very limited rim protection and foot speed.

Don't get the fascination with Monroe. He's a very good player but a poor fit on this roster and I'd throw up if Ainge gave him the max.

Monroe, Asik and Sanders have all been rumored to be on the trading block.

You really want to dream and fantasize (although I don't think its a totally unrealistic fantasy)?

Ask yourself how a frontcourt of Monroe/Asik/Sully/KO would be or in the alternative, Monroe/Sanders/Sully/KO?
Wow! 

I'd trade everyone on the team not named Rondo as well as two firsts (but not in '14) to get this done, but not sure that would get it done. (Although Hump {a contributor as well as an expiring}, Bass, Green, Lee, Crawford, Bogans {an expiring} would get us close.

There are plenty of wings and some very good point guards who will be available when we pick.

Not sure what you are referring to. Monroe is a pretty good player.

I'd deal for him in a heartbeat, if I could.

Underlying point (if not obvious):  Monroe and Drummond aren't exactly lighting the world on fire as a duo... so it should temper your enthusiasm for the Monroe and Sully duo.  It clearly wouldn't be as good as what the Pistons have going for them right now as-is.

The Green for Monroe possibility just makes too much sense for both teams - Josh Smith moves to his natural pf position and Green slides in to the sf spot to provide one of the most dynamic, athletic, and talented front courts in the league.

Monroe seems to be an upgrade over Green. I understand he isn't a rim protector, but the toughness with Sully and him down low would be pretty killer. You then keep Olynyk as your third big and bring in a project athletic center in the draft or in free agency who can give you a solid 15 minutes of play per night.

As for the sf position, I would start Lee. I know he doesn't have ideal size, but he and Wallace could split time based on matchups. It would also solve the glut at the sg position.

This sounds good until one thinks how many elite players there are at SF.   Then it sounds real bad.


Just realized we could draft Doug McDermott and he would be solid SF.  He would really spread the floor with these two, I would worry about his D but he is smart player and good passer.  He might be right where we are picking too in the 12-15 range.
