Loved Heinsohn's rant the other night during Buck's game concerning how "tanking" promotes a losing mentality and I agree 100%.
I love to see a game where the refs let these guys play and bodies are flying all over the place, all giving 110% of themselves to just win that game.
Now picture two teams trying to tank like a bunch of slackers with no game plan, no action and nobody cares, for what??? the possibility that the early pick you get will even work out???

How often does that actually happen?

I don't think the 7 win Bobcats were trying to lose games. I just don't think they were a very good basketball team.

I thought this was going to ask where are all the Tommy Points Tommy used to give out.  I don't hear it much anymore.

Actually, he wasn't p---ed at all. The whole rant sounded quite staged -- like something that was said just because you expect that Tommy should say that.

As a matter of fact, Tommy's work has lost a lot of his luster sine his wife passed away, and I hate to see him "preside" over a rebuilding effort in the same way in which I hated how Garnett and Pierce toiled in a hopeless situation last season.

Perhaps it's time to let Tommy retire, and add Max to the booth permanently. He seems to have good chemistry with Gorman.

Yeah, it was so "staged" that he randomly breaks in during free throws to keep ranting about it later on in the broadcast. I guess he didn't follow the script closely enough.

Tommy can retire whenever he wants. His comments are great, especially with all these new players to talk about.

The fact that Tommy has the B--ls to go off the reservation and say outlandish things that we all have thought or wanted to say at times, that fact that he has unconditional love for the franchise, the players, the fans and the fact that Tommy will die a Celtic make him irreplaceable.

Best we all enjoy a guy like Tommy to the fullest while we can. They dont grow on tree's and he doesnt have a ready replacement in the wings that nearly measures up.

Gotta love Tommy but I definitely enjoy the games a lot more when PJ Carlisimo or Cowens is announcing.  I just don't think Tommy has anything new to say and he doesn't really know what's going on in the current NBA.

Honestly, I think the worse thing from a fan's perspective isn't a deliberate lack of effort, but a deliberate benching or shady extra long wrong injury recovery from star players (whether it's from a good team resting for the playoffs or a bad team trying to assure more ping pong balls).

You're right.  Most bad teams are still trying.  The `07 Celts busted their butts.
Yup

cowens sounded terrible the games he filled in on. PJ was not as bad as i had thought. Still,

"HERE'S MIKE AND TOMMY!"

nobody beats that duo.
