I like it for Minny. I don't really get it for Sac. Presumably you could trade the Fresh Prince to a contender before the deadline for a late 1st. I'd rather have that than Williams, who just isn't going to turn into anything...

I think you are vastly over-rating the willingness of teams to part with a late first.

Right. I'm not sure which contender was going to buy LRMAM, eat his salary, and send out a 1st to boot. I'm skeptical it was or would ever be on the table.

I'm so, so glad things are working out with Williams. Kings looking better and better as Maloofs like in the wake (I like to think they're on a deserted island).

On the flip side, seems L-Mbah is doing pretty well (although he did it at the expense of one of my binkies this season in the Mavs).

I think Derrick Williams will have a good career in Sac town

SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

so far your prediction is looking good. 31 pts last night vs the Mavs.

Team now gets Rudy Gay. If they can all gel , it can be interesting to see what kind of noise they can make in the west.

Not only did Williams score 31, but he looked great (I only caught the first quarter, silly West Coast games) doing it.

If you ever saw Derrick Williams play in Minnesota, just picture the opposite of that.

He has had big games before.  He had 8 and 9 points in the previous two games.  He reminds me of the Wolves version of Michael Beasley.

Yeah pretty much.

I like what Sac has going.  Isiah Thomas actually looks like a PG now, really happy about that as I liked him even before.  I hope Gay doesn't come in and ruin chemistry.

I always said Williams could be a good, not great, player..but with Gay coming in, his touches will be few

Will be interesting to see how Gay fits in with the team.  I like the Thomas / Williams / Cousins combination.

At least offensively, the Kings could be building a more athletic version of what Orlando used to do with Dwight Howard, playing two smaller forwards next to a huge, bruising center (Cousins is far more skilled offensively than Dwight, too).  Thomas and McLemore can light it up from outside, too, and Gay and Williams are both decent spot-up shooters from three.

The Kings just need to eliminate the mid-range jumper almost completely from their offense.

Similar player in terms of physical profile and skills.  I think Derrick may be a bit more athletic.  Also, he still makes an effort to grab rebounds, which is something that Beasley gave up on a while ago.  Derrick seems to have a better attitude, too.  Not as many bad habits.
