I would absolutely consider it depending on  how the next few weeks go.

Depends on who can be had out there tho.

It would be crazy to waste a year with how this team is built so I think you need to be aggressive if you truly want your team to contend

No. I would trade DWilliams first and foremost without hesitation.

Then look for anyone willing to take on Joe Johnsons contract (which wouldnt be easy and probably wouldnt happen).
Williams value is at an all time low.

Trading him now wouldn't get you any offers you'd like.

Any offer would be better than Williams.
Not true. How would the Nets better off with expiring deals and a single pick.

They'd still be capped out.

They wouldn't have Deron Williams. Which right off the bat is a huge plus for them, or any team for that matter.

Okay we're beyond realistic talk and just into straight haterade.

I'm sure they'll trade him for Amar'e any day now then.

Chris Smith and a half-eaten hot dog, straight up.

Also, do you guys realize how terrible it'd look for the Nets to replace Kidd?  Aside from the fact that the team would have had four different coaches in a year, they also just retired Kidd's number and gave him a share of the team's ownership.  For better or worse, Kidd's sticking around.

to me they have to keep kidd for season to remain stable
the nets have a ONE YEAR window, if they can't jell and win it this year they are screwed
too early to fire kidd, maybe if they are doing ok but not next level it could happen right before playoffs

this team won't show much til end of season

hope our old friends can remain healthy and finish up ok

Williams is still awesome when his body is right, which unfortunately is like 35% of the time over the last few years.  At least he plays when he is far less than 100%, unlike someone like Eric Gordon.

Maybe Kidd the owner will decide to fire Kidd the coach.

He could even have a press conference:

"Well, at some point Jason Kidd realized that the best thing from Jason Kidd's perspective was for Jason Kidd to step down. This was really the best way for Jason Kidd to preserve Jason Kidd's legacy as a great part of the Nets franchise."

A lot of people here are overreacting to Brooklyn's situation.  The season is long and they are loaded with talent.  They won 49 last year without KG and Pierce.  They will be fine.  Expect a lengthy win streak at some point.

He was a good player but good PG don't always make good coaches just ask Magic.  I always thought he was missing a few blocks listening to him talk.

I'd make him player/coach and have him lead the team on the floor.

I'd make him player/coach and have him lead the team on the floor.

Player-coaches aren't permitted under the CBA.

That's too bad.
