first, take $1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) and put in any sort of investments that yield 2%, a low but safe level. that would give me $20,000,000,000 each and every year. (for those keeping score at home, that means $20 BILLION dollars each year.)
it is inconceivable that i could spend that much in a lifetime, let alone a year. i am most assuredly set for life.
the rest? i put in a similar set of investments so as to produce interest and then set up lots and lots and lots of endowments. i would greatly enjoy having that much money to give out to good causes, good people, and good purposes every year of my life.
and if $80,000,000 (eighty million dollars) or so goes the wrong way or is poorly spent? NO BIG DEAL. $80,000,000 is merely one/tenth of one percent of the annual yield.
honestly folks. ten trillion dollars is an obscene amount of cash.
basically, it is like a magical power that i would love to have to make the world a shade, itty bitty, tiny bit better for many people than it currently is right now.
