I admit to not catching much of the Nets so far, but just looking at the numbers, it looks like he's been fairly mediocre so far this season.

I've read the theory a lot over the past few years that playing with great players like Pierce and Garnett has made a mediocre point guard look much better than he really is.

Based on that, I would think that a great point guard like Williams should be looking awesome playing with the talent he is currently playing with in Brooklyn.  I know it's only three games, but what's up, Deron?

Any thoughts on this?

Deron Williams missed most of preseason with an injury and has been on a minutes restriction since coming back. Give him some time to get healthy.

Yeah he was hurt and is playing limited minutes.

Still he was pretty bad for like half of last year (and quite out a shape) though he did come along after that.  He does have something to prove.  But he can share the load with the other guys at least.

Thanks, guys.  TPs.  I was trying to make a point, but I guess it is a moot one.

Didn't really know he wasn't at full health.

DWill has always been kind of an enigmatic player, and a tease in that he can be a top ten player when healthy and motivated.

I like his game, but I also like that regarding the Nets picks, much of our future draft position rests on his shoulders, as well as Billy King's and a meddling ownership.

Just like last year, seems to be his ankles are going to be an ongoing issue going forward.

Its alright, no matter how good he or the team does we can always point to a. Him not being the best player on the team and b. His success is coming from playing with hall of famers

Problem is he's half the player he was. There was a time when he was better than Chris Paul. Not anymore.

Most of the time, players are wrongly accused of mailing it in, coasting, etc.

I think that D-Will is a great example a dude who's done exactly that since he went to New Jersey.

That said, and other people have covered this, it's only been three games and he's had some injuries. He's not 100% yet, and he had a great second half of last year/
