To be nit-picky, I would have loved to see the statue showing Bill playing defense.  That would have been harder to put into sculpture, sure, but it would have personified the man more than a free throw / set shot.

It's supposed to be a chest pass, not a shot, and I think it's not a bad idea. Here's a piece from the Globe with the artist, Ann Hirsch:

I was dissapointed it didn't have him shooting a hook shot which is what i remember watching him shoot over the years that i watched him play! congratulation  bill russell on your statue! I'm very happy for you.
